Witch Marie and her group are sailing across the ocean towards the Far East.

Onboard the ship:

Knock, knock. . . . . .

Someone is knocking on the door to Marie’s cabin.

“Who could it be?”

“Ignore it.”

Marie says this to her animal-eared chef, Kaito.

『Hey hey, Witch-sama. You’re not doing anything right now, are you?』

“I am.”

『All I see is you sitting on a chair, lost in thought?』

“I’m busy savoring the aftertaste of the eel kabayaki that Kaito made. . . . . .”

『You’re basically doing nothing!』

Earlier, Kaito had made eel kabayaki using slices of sea serpent.

Marie had eaten it and was immensely satisfied.

Marie leans back in her chair, her face full of joy.

“There are still so many delicious things in the world that I haven’t tasted. . . . . .”

Meanwhile, Kaito hesitates for a moment and then goes outside.

He apparently decided to listen to the conversation outside so as not to disturb the Witch.

Swiftly, Ose, the black cat demon, also exits the cabin.

There are several sailors and a man who appears to be the captain.

“Do you have some business with Witch-sama?”

The captain and his crew are puzzled; they had expected the Witch to come out.

But understanding that these are her messengers, they get to the point.

“Actually, we want Witch-sama to defeat the lord of the nearby seas.”

“The lord of the nearby seas?”

『A monster in the ocean?』

At Ose’s words, the captain nods and elaborates.

“Indeed, it’s a formidable monster that frequents these waters. Many have fallen victim to it over the years.”

『Why don’t you just change routes then?』

“The creature stubbornly follows us, regardless.”

『That’s a recipe for disaster. How have you managed so far?』

“We all spent a lot of money on potions to keep magical creatures at bay.”

However, these potions seem to be quite expensive. Using them each time they sail could lead to bankruptcy.

“So we were wondering if Witch-sama could possibly defeat the lord of the nearby seas for us. . . . . .”

『Why her? Aren’t there others who can do it?』

“Yes, we did hire adventurers for this before, but they were unable to fully utilize their abilities on the ocean. . . . . .”

『I see. In a world without magic, long-range attacks are limited to bows at best, huh?』

Indeed, without magic, the most potent long-range attacks, it’s quite a struggle to defeat sea creatures.

“Witch-sama performed a miracle. . . . . .I was moved. Her power rivals that of the Witch Goddess herself!”

『Well, she is the person in question. . . . . .but you wouldn’t believe it. So, you want her to handle it with her magic?』

The captain bow his head deeply.

“Please, Witch-sama! We have no one else to turn to! Please, please!”

But. . . . . .no response came.

『Of course. She only obeys her appetite. Well, give up already.』

“No way. . . . . .”

Then Kaito asks,

“What kind of monster is the lord of the nearby seas?”

“It’s a Kraken, a gigantic octopus monster.”

“Octopus. . . . . .If it’s that big, then we can make a lot of large takoyaki balls. . . . . .”

Bang!

“I’ve heard enough.”

“””Witch-sama!”””

『Here comes the Witch of Gluttony. Guah!』

Marie steps on Ose and grins.

“Leave it to me. I’ll take down the Kraken.”

“”Whoa!””

“As expected of Witch-sama! You truly can’t ignore people in need, you’re amazing!”

“Thank you!!”

As the crew members bow their heads, Marie snorts and says,

“Don’t get me wrong. I’m not doing this for you.”

“Whoa! Tsundere!”

『This isn’t tsundere at all. . . . . .』

Marie had decided to defeat the Kraken for the mysterious food known as 【takoyaki】.

『But what will you do, Witch-sama?』

Marie heads for the deck. On it, Ose is riding.

『Do you know where the master of these coastal waters is? This area is pretty vast, you know?』

“No problem. Captain, furl the sails and stop the ship.”

The captain orders as Marie had said.

Since the sails catching the wind are gone, the ship stops.

『What’s the point of stopping the ship?』

“This is the point.”

Marie stands at the front of the ship and extends her right hand forward.

“【Water Dragon Tsunami】.”

At that moment. . . . . .

A massive whirlpool appears in front of the ship, making a roaring sound.

『Isn’t that an advanced water spell that causes a huge tsunami?!』

“I’m modifying that to control the currents in this area and generate a whirlpool.”

『Control the currents. . . . . .? You’re planning to create a whirlpool to attract underwater monsters?』

The intense flow of water gathers marine creatures.

From its center. . . . . .

Splash――――――!

“”I, It’s out――――!””

A monster-like, gigantic octopus appeared.

『To create such a huge whirlpool, the magic of the Witch is as crazy as ever. . . . . .』

“Now, it’s cooking time.”
