Is the Lost Princess Unexpectedly Loved? – Chapter 32

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟐

Taking classes through the afternoon after lunch, I felt truly a bit tired.

I’m not yet accustomed to a full day of classes for the first time.

I should get used to it if I keep attending classes every day.

On the way home in the carriage, Kyle and Chris both seem to be deep in thought, making difficult faces.

They’re probably worried about how to deal with Eliza.

Even so. . .even though she was exiled to the Hambel territory, Eliza’s thoughts didn’t change.

I wonder why she thinks she can become a queen even though she’s outside the royal family.

“Hey, Kyle, Chris. I don’t understand.

Why does Eliza think she’s the one who will become a queen like that?”

“That is. . .”

“Is someone talking to Eliza and convincing her of that?”

“Not so much convincing her, but yeah.

It’d be quicker if I explained it all from the beginning.

You know the crown prince and crown princess didn’t get along?”

“Yeah. Otou-sama and Okaa-sama had a bad relationship.

I often think that it’s surprising that I was even born.”

I think they hardly made eye contact.

They never talked even at grandfather’s monthly dinner party,

Once the meal is over, they leave the room in silence.

If it had been like that from the beginning, I think their life as a married couple must have been virtually nonexistent.

“. . .The crown prince and princess didn’t have the princess until four years after their marriage.

Before that, the third prince got his lover pregnant before graduating from the academy,

They got married right after graduation, and that’s when Miss Eliza was born.”

“Oh, right. Eliza is two years older, isn’t she?”

“Normally, the younger princes don’t marry until a child is born to the crown prince.

There’s a thing called the order of royal succession.

So, the second prince didn’t marry until the princess was born.

However, Miss Eliza’s birth was welcomed by some.

The bad relationship between the crown prince and princess seemed irreparable.

So, there was also discussion about whether Miss Eliza should be adopted as the crown prince’s daughter.”

“Really? There was talk about Otou-sama adopting her?”

I thought that rumor was something the Duke and Eliza had spread on their own.

I never thought it was a story that had been around before I was born.

“But the third prince had a bad reputation, and the Count’s daughter he married also had a bad reputation.

They didn’t even know if Miss Eliza was really the third prince’s child.”

“Really? Is that so?”

I had an impression of the Duchess liking flashy dresses, but I didn’t think she was that kind of person.

But maybe that’s why the Duke had many mistresses and she didn’t get angry.

“Although there were discussions, a year passed without reaching a conclusion to adopt her as a foster daughter,

The discussion faded away with the pregnancy of the Crown Princess.

If the Crown Princess gives birth to a child, there won’t be a need for an adopted daughter anymore.”

“That makes sense. . .I’m surprised I was born, though.”

“The king apparently told the crown prince that he wouldn’t be free until he had a child.

The crown princess had to live under surveillance until she had a child.

She must have gotten fed up with it. It’s not something to tell the princess, though. . .”

“No, it’s okay, I’m fine. I know Otou-sama and her had a bad relationship.

I know that I wasn’t born out of love or anything like that.”

“. . .If that’s the case, then it’s fine. However, that’s how the Princess was born, but

Once the judgment of having no magical power spread, the idea of adopting Miss Eliza came up again.

Well, I suppose the Duke did this in order to adopt Miss Eliza

However, I believe they spread lies with the purpose of demeaning the Princess. . .and those lies did have an effect.

The debate started again, and before a conclusion was reached,

The second prince’s child was born, and he was a prince.

That should have completely eliminated the talk of adopting Miss Eliza. At least, it should have.

But the Duke, who once thought his daughter might become a queen,

Couldn’t give up and probably came up with a plan to swap her with the Ineligible Princess.”

“I see. . .Now, not only Eddie is with Uncle Fritz,

Emilia is also there. . .It’s impossible for Eliza to succeed, though.

But the Duke probably can’t give up because he once thought Eliza could become an adopted daughter.

If Eliza is more exceptional than I, who was supposed to become the queen, could she become the queen?

Is Eliza the only one who hasn’t given up? What about Uncle Edgar?”

“No, I think it’s just Miss Eliza.”

“Hmm. . .”

That Uncle Edgar with that intense vibe,

I hadn’t expected him to simply give in after being banished,

But he said he wasn’t allowed to come to the royal capital, so I guess he thought it was impossible.

When I arrive at the palace, the crown prince’s work is waiting.

I’m tired, but there are many things I have to do.

. . .Maybe I’ll take a little nap until I get to the palace.

When I started to doze off, the seat next to me changed from Ruri to Kyle.

He held me sideways so as not to bump inside the carriage.

I was wrapped in his arms, and I laid my face against Kyle’s chest.

I’ll do my best after a little rest. . .When I said that,

I was gently stroked on my back and fell into a dream.
