In an instant, Luke and his companions stood before the Clave Temple.

“W, What is this?”

Flora’s eyes widened in surprise.

“I had preset the coordinates for teleportation magic. But more importantly, look at that!”

Luke pointed at the main hall of the Clave Temple, where Behemoth was.

Straddling the roof, it glared down below.

“That’s Behemoth. . .”

Flora’s voice trembled.

“Let’s evacuate now. We don’t have enough people to subdue such a demon beast.”

“That’s not possible.”

Luke shook his head in frustration.

“Behemoth is a being so powerful, it’s called a divine beast. It has already sealed off the surrounding area.”

“But. . . we were able to come out of the temple, right?”

“Its range is wide. Behemoth’s territorial seal extends for a kilometer around here.”

“No way. . .”

Flora was speechless.

“Behemoth may eventually target St. Arrogas. The area where people live is richer in magical essence compared to others. We must stop it before that happens.”

Luke looked towards the temple.

“Fortunately, the temple’s magical mechanism seems to be still functional. If we use it, we might be able to hold it off. But for that, we need everyone’s cooperation here.”

“Don’t joke with me!”

The one who shouted was Gale.

He glared at Luke with eyes filled with hatred.

“Why should we cooperate with you? Why are you giving orders? I am the one in command here!”

“Your Highness, now is not the time for this. . .”

“Shut up! Hey, bring that to me!”

A servant brought Gale a sword.

The blade, pulled from its sheath, shone like silver.

“It’s the holy sword Banisher, passed down in the Arrogas royal family. It was used to seal the grey dragon in the past. With me wielding it, Behemoth is no match.”

“Instead, we should think of a way to subdue it by joining forces. . .”

“Shut up!”

Gale pushed Luke aside and headed towards Behemoth.

“I don’t need your help! Just watch quietly!”

“Wind!”

He used wind flight magic to leap high.

“Take my full-powered strike!”

Gale’s swing of the holy sword Banisher cut through Behemoth’s steel-like bristles, deeply piercing its neck.

“”””Ooooh!!!””””

Cheers erupted among the soldiers!

However, as Behemoth shook its head irritably, Gale crashed to the ground with tremendous force.

“Your Highness!”

Flora hurriedly cast a healing spell.

“Damn. . . I was so close. . .”

“Please, no more recklessness. It’s not something one can handle alone.”

Luke stood in front of Gale.

“No. . . stop. . . it’s my prey. . .”

 ㅤ

“This is not the time for such talk.”

Luke said this and then ran towards the temple.

“Mages, please lend me your strength! I’m going to stop its movements now!”

He extended his hand toward the huge monument in front of the temple.

(So the temple itself is a giant sealing device!)

It’s said that in the old imperial era, far more powerful magical beasts roamed than now.

People built many sealing devices to protect themselves from these threats.

The sealing of the gray dragon must have utilized the temple’s original functions.

(Good thing I learned about the relics of the old imperial era from Iris)

When Luke’s left hand touched the monument, lines of light emanated from the ground, running towards the temple.

Magical power lit up from the bell towers at the four corners of the temple, entwining around the Behemoth.

“Everyone, please supply magical power to the bell towers!”

“”””Yes!!!!””””

The mages ran towards the bell towers.

The ropes of magical power capturing the Behemoth grew brighter.

“Bumoooooooo!”

With a scream, the Behemoth fell into the courtyard.

“Now! We have about 5 minutes to restrain the Behemoth, inflict as much damage as possible in that time!”

“””””Yeah!!!””””

Responding to Luke’s call, the soldiers rushed at the Behemoth.

They attacked with weapons in hand and spells they chanted.

“Good! Our attacks are reaching it!”

“Keep attacking! Don’t stop!”

“Think there won’t be another chance if we miss this one!”

The morale of the soldiers reached its peak.

“No, stop. . . Why are you helping that thing. . .! I am your leader, I am the one!”

Gale’s screams went unheard by the soldiers focused on the battle.

The battle seemed to be progressing smoothly.

However, the opponent was a divine beast, an absolute entity.

“!”

Luke was the first to notice the anomaly.

The magical power of the Behemoth was rapidly accumulating inside it.

“Everyone back off!”

Right after the soldiers evacuated, the magical power ropes restraining the Behemoth were severed.

With a scream, Behemoth charged.

It was heading towards Gale and Flora.

Flora tried to flee with Gale on her shoulder, but she could hardly support him.

“Fool! Run away quickly!”

Gale pushed Flora away and staggered off.

“Come here, you furball! I was the one who plunged the sword into you!”

The enraged Behemoth turned towards Gale.

“Gale!”

Flora screamed.

Just as the Behemoth’s massive foot was about to crush Gale, a huge fireball struck its face.

“Bugaaaa!”

The Behemoth roared in pain.

The sacred sword Banisher, stuck in its neck, dislodged and fell at Gale’s feet.

“Over here!”

Luke shouted while firing fireballs from his left hand.
