“Mamori…”

In the midst of fleeing from the Demon God, the Demon Lord muttered in a raspy voice.

Ignoring her, I continued to rush forward.

But the Demon Lord, seemingly unbothered, continued to speak in a voice close to death.

“I, indeed, am the child born between a demon father and a human mother.

In other words, I am half-human.”

…So it was.

I wasn’t interested in the Demon Lord’s background, but I was slightly surprised by her confession.

“My father probably impregnated my mother in jest. Such acts are common among demons.

The probability of a half-blood being born is low, though.”

With every word, the Demon Lord grows weaker.

Yet, she did not stop speaking.

“And my mother, who escaped with me from my father’s grasp, loved me despite me being a child of a demon.

She tried to raise me as a normal human.

Fortunately, my appearance was close enough to human to be convincing if told I was of such race.

My mother told me that I was different from others and sternly warned me never to reveal it, but honestly, I couldn’t understand the difference between myself and others back then.”

While dodging stray bullets flying from behind, I lend a slight ear to the Demon Lord’s story.

That’s all I can do right now.

“One day, an event that changed my fate occurred.

A friend at the time brought an appraisal stone, not knowing where he got it from.

Still young and knowing nothing, I used the appraisal stone in the spur of the moment.

━ And my non-human identity was exposed.

The news spread from loose-lipped children to adults and quickly became known throughout the town.”

The Demon Lord gives a bitter smile.

In her eyes, it seemed to me, was a deep sense of regret.

“Do you know the doctrine of the Goddess religion? Their advocated doctrine is the complete eradication of demons.

Thinking back, it was probably a measure to prevent the resurrection of Demon God-sama.

But the treatment I received wasn’t so easy to accept, even with such reasons.

━ I was almost disposed of as a demon.

The people who were kind to me just a few days ago turned their backs and wished for my death.

I still see that scene in my dreams, it’s my trauma.”

Perhaps reminiscing about that time, the Demon Lord looked distant.

Facing such a Demon Lord, I had no words to offer.

“My mother too, was killed as a traitor.

Just before her death, she exchanged her life to help me escape, and at that moment, I realized something.

There’s no place for me in the world of humans.”

Stray bullets are flying from behind.

One hit the Demon Lord.

With what would usually be a minor blow, the Demon Lord let out a cry of agony.

By now, the Demon Lord was that weak.

Her HP was on the brink of depletion.

Yet, the Demon Lord did not stop speaking.

“Having barely escaped the town with my life, I was at a loss.

I was young and had no power, and there was no one I could rely on.

Rage and resentment towards humans, unbearable loneliness, guilt towards my mother, fear of an uncertain future.

With these negative feelings, I wandered in a forest where no humans were present.

One day,

I heard the voice of Demon God-sama.”

The number of stray bullets flying from behind is decreasing.

Just a bit more.

“Alone, I suppressed my voice and cried, the voice of Demon God-sama echoed gently to me.

Driven to my limits by that voice, which proclaimed itself the god of demons, I clung to it.

After that, I was led as instructed, to the Demon Lord’s castle.

There, I touched the dungeon core of the Demon Lord’s castle, became the dungeon master, and the Demon Lord. To me, who became the Demon Lord, Demon God-sama said,

[If you have no place in the human world, create a world of monsters. You’re sure to find your place there]

That sounded like a voice of salvation to me.

I have fought to this point believing in that, but the result is this…

At the point when I judged that I had sufficiently distanced myself from the Demon God, I transferred the zombie-sensei from the dungeon.

Immediately, with the teleportation of the zombie-sensei, I sent the Demon Lord into the dungeon.

Surprised by the phenomenon, the Demon Lord slightly widened his eyes.

But, that was just it.

The place where I transferred the Demon Lord was the boss room, the bottommost layer of the dungeon.

There, my main body, clad in the completed Living Armor-senpai in case of an emergency, was waiting.

I silently approached the Demon Lord, supported by the Automata.

“Mamori, do you intend to kill me?”

Suddenly, my movements stopped.

It was because she hit the nail on the head.

And yet, understanding that, the Demon Lord quietly laughed.

“I don’t mind. I knew that you were not fond of me. After all, our meeting was what it was.

I dragged you, who live here peacefully, out into the battlefield. I can’t complain even if you hold a grudge.

Now, go ahead and kill me.”

…Despite being on the brink of death, she’s way too dignified.

Indeed, the only one in this world to whom I sincerely bow my head.

With a hint of respect for the Demon Lord, I raised my sword.

“I’m glad I could talk about what’s in my heart to someone at the end… So, farewell.”

The sword swung down, beheading the Demon Lord.

With that, I gained an unprecedented amount of DP and experience.

And now, the Demon Lord’s experience won’t go to the Demon God.

I don’t know if the logic of this world applies to the Demon God too.

“…”

Then, I silently operated the menu and, as usual, chose to create a High Zombie.

I immediately zombified the Demon Lord’s corpse.

The demon lord zombie silently rises.

I have obtained the strongest force.

“…Well, I’ll avenge you.”

Before I knew it, I was naturally saying such a thing to the demon lord zombie.

lmfao, the reason she was hurrying was to kill the demon lord with her main body? Honestly I liked the demon lord tho, she was kinda fun

  4. I like the demon lord. No wonder she’s different from usual brainless demons.
The better scenario would have been to join forces but the MC is not the type to trust anyone without absolute guarantee that they will never betray, which leave her only slaves and zombies.
