“Please let me die! Decapitate me, please! Right now!”

“Calm down! Everything is going to be fine! In fact, I’m glad you spoke up!”

After the talk with Roa-sama had settled, Emilia, looking like she was about to die, came out of the room and prostrated herself.

Displaying immediately recognizable elegance in her demeanor, she prostrated smoothly and still does not attempt to rise.

“No, I cannot simply take advantage of your kindness. Right after I came to help, such a blunder! I don’t think my life is enough to make amends, but please, end it swiftly.”

“Emilia, stand up. I’m not blaming you.”

“That is exactly why! Prince Linus is too kind!”

Emilia was stubborn.

With every word from Roa-sama, she shrank more and more. It seems Shiro can’t do anything either.

“Emilia-sama, please listen. I realized that Roa-sama might be the younger royal brother. I realized it, yet I couldn’t ask. . . I was terrified of whatever answer I might be faced with.”

I kneel on the floor too, and place my hand on Emilia’s shoulder.

Her delicate body trembled sharply.

“I was afraid of being told that I’m not worth revealing your true identity. . .”

“I have not thought such a thing!”

“Exactly. Roa-sama would never think such things. It was just that Roa-sama, too, was afraid to speak his name.”

Finally, Emilia, who cautiously lifted her face, is met with a smile.

“If it continued like this, we would both remain frightened and never confide in each other. I’m glad Emilia-sama came. I feel like I understand more about Roa-sama now.”

“Ah. . . but. . .”

“Thank you for creating an opportunity to speak with Roa-sama. It’s really reassuring to have Emilia-sama here. Let’s work together to catch Dyson.”

“Alice. . . what a kind-hearted lady you are. . .”

“It’s thanks to Roa-sama. Roa-sama is not bothered by this incident.”

“Yes. . . I am grateful for Prince Linus’s magnanimous heart.”

“Feel free to speak more casually. Stand up, and tell me about your conversation with Shiro. I’m truly happy to see the two of you getting along.”

Roa-sama helps Emilia to her feet.

Emilia was still apologizing through tears but stopped mentioning death as before.

Everyone was relieved, especially Shiro, who seemed about to cry with relief.

Just before, he had been looking at Emilia with a composed face as if nothing was wrong, but now he clung to Emilia.

“Don’t talk about dying and leaving me alone!”

Looking at the affectionate couple, Roa-sama smiled as if truly delighted.

It seemed there really was nothing between him and Emilia. His expression was clear, with no hint of regret or longing.

The atmosphere became more harmonious, and then Chris stepped forward.

“Tonight, Ojou-sama has prepared something called kushiage. I hear it pairs exceptionally well with alcohol. Ladies and gentlemen, how about we all sit down and enjoy the meal while chatting?”

“Chris is right. Come on everyone, let’s sit down and eat!”

At Roa-sama’s words, everyone took their seats.

“Then, I will go fry them now. I’ll bring them as soon as they’re ready! Chris, could you please help with the sauce and plates?”

“Certainly.”

As I’m about to head to the kitchen, someone pulls on my arm.

Turning around, Roa-sama was there.

 ㅤ

“Alice.”

Various emotions flicker across the noble features of Roa-sama, appearing and vanishing in turns.

“. . . . . .Thank you.”

The words finally squeezed out were just a single phrase.

Those few words encapsulated all of Roa-sama’s feelings.

“Yes.”

Not knowing how to reply, only a brief word could be mustered.

But for Roa-sama, that was enough.

A fleeting smile, akin to tears of joy, crossed his face before he swiftly returned to his usual expression. The arm separates.

“I’m looking forward to the meal.”

“I’ll bring it immediately.”

The skewers were well-received by everyone.

Not stating ‘no double-dipping,’ ample sauce tailored to everyone’s preference was provided. Mustard, lemon, and curry powder for Rene.

According to Rene, curry powder goes well with everything.

“Alice, this is delicious! The cheese stretches so much!”

“I also recommend these Shishito peppers to Rene-sama. They have a spicy kick.”

“This is tasty as well!”

“You always surprise me, Alice. . . Who would have thought pumpkin fritters could be this delicious.”

While gobbling up pumpkin and corn, Edgardo remarked deeply. The sesame dumplings prepared on the side were the first to be devoured.

“The shellfish is delicious. Meat is good, but I can’t stop eating the shrimp.”

“The onions are sweet. They overflow the mouth with deliciousness when eaten with the meat.”

The vigor of Rolf and Arthur’s eating never fails to impress.

“It’s been a while since I’ve had Miss Norchev’s cooking! It’s so delicious!”

“Oh. . . it’s truly delicious. These are dishes I’ve never seen before, but each has a different taste and texture, providing a surprise until you take a bite.”

“I heard Emilia-sama was ill, is the skewer not too heavy for you?”

“I’m fine. Thank you for worrying, Alice. I’ve been eating only bread porridge and rice porridge. Foods considered good for health, with herbs, spices, and seasonings added.”

“Could it be, Emilia-sama, that your unique contacts are related to that?”

“Yes. I’ve been eating the same thing for so long, I was honestly tired of it! So, I’m very happy to be able to enjoy a meal made by Alice!”

It’s a relief to see Emilia recovering.

Roa-sama seems to have taken a liking to the meat, chatting merrily while alternating with pickles.

“Alice and Chris, let’s eat together soon. Please, take a seat.”

There’s enough skewers fried up to last for a while. I want Chris to try them fresh out of the fryer.

Stealing a glance at Chris, he’s surprised by the burst of heat from a cherry tomato but relaxes into the taste.

Trying one at random, it turns out to be shrimp.

Why is fried shrimp so deliciously plump. . . Thick mushrooms and lotus root, tiny eggs, and ginkgo nuts, all delectable.

“Everything Alice makes always pairs so well with alcohol.”

Drinking alcohol with a hangover remedy, Arthur laughed, not troubled in the slightest.

“I’ve heard that it also goes well with lemon-flavored alcohol.”

“I will prepare it immediately.”

Chris quickly prepared it in place of me, who is not knowledgeable about alcohol.

Only Emilia and I celebrated our reunion with juice. The glasses clinked, and the alcohol danced lightly.

Emilia was surprised by the scene that would be absolutely impossible in a castle, but everyone was laughing.

It didn’t seem refined, but the slightly rough toast seemed to express the depth of everyone’s joy.
