Taking advantage of the perfect soundproofing, Chihaya was enjoying solo karaoke in the basement of the apartment.
Although it was a pointlessly high singing ability since nobody was around to hear it, she stumbled grandly in rap and it became a mess. Still, Chihaya struck a satisfied triumphant pose.
ㅤ
Such solo karaoke had started as mere escapism.
Due to repeated battles and the selling of attacker units, 99% of the requests displayed on Chihaya’s account had become combat-related.
Escapism due to lack of available non-combat requests.
Even newly created accounts displayed the same requests, leading to the belief that priority of requests is determined not by individual accounts but by the information of individual actors.
ㅤ
“Help me!”
ㅤ
Despite just singing the lyrics, it was a heartfelt cry of agony.
Satisfied with a score of ninety-eight points on the karaoke app’s scoring feature, Chihaya lay down on the sofa bed provided.
ㅤ
“I’m tired. . . . . .”
ㅤ
It’s no wonder, after nearly three hours of passionate singing.
While lying down rudely, she drank water from a straw-attached plastic bottle and took out her smartphone.
If some time passed, new requests might appear. That’s what she hoped.
ㅤ
“. . . . . .Ah!”
ㅤ
As expected, a large recruitment was displayed on the bulletin board.
The client was Amagi Agricultural Development General Group, planning to lay a road between Koroge Iwa Garage to the north of Red Bell Forest, and they needed to conduct a survey.
Although combat with New World’s animals might occur, they were recruiting widely due to the extensive area to be surveyed. Given the large number of recruits, it also appeared on Chihaya’s combat-prioritized board.
ㅤ
The reward is small, but since there are many participants, Chihaya doesn’t need to engage even if it comes to a battle with wild animals. If bandits show up, they can use the power of numbers.
It was a quite appealing request.
Chihaya immediately applied to participate.
ㅤ
“Huh, with this, I can become a peaceful Actor.”
ㅤ
The singing was worth it. Help really came.
Moreover, the civilian clan 『New World Tree Housing』 was participating to compile survey results and take overall command.
Having a famous entity like 『New World Tree Housing』 involved, no mediocre bandit would dare approach.
ㅤ
This request felt different, more reassuring.
Just to be safe, she joined with a new account to avoid being misunderstood as combat-capable and being assigned wildlife vigilance tasks.
Out of caution, she also answered a few questions about her surveying experience and skills.
ㅤ
“I don’t want to fight, I don’t want to fight. . . . . .”
ㅤ
She was desperate. With 99% already filled with combat requests, any further contribution in combat could irrevocably pollute her request board.
After completing the application, Chihaya took a breath.
ㅤ
“Ah, they might take the rental mechs.”
ㅤ
The nearest garage to the site was Koroge Iwa Garage. It’s a garage opened by Amagi Agricultural Development General Group, and the number of rental mechs was small.
When checked, all were reserved. Seems everyone was thinking the same.
ㅤ
Chihaya quickly searched for rental mechs at the nearby Wagawa Garage. There were still some available here.
After applying, the reservation was completed in about five minutes. Although she had reserved before being accepted for the request, the cancellation fee was not very high. In this situation, it wouldn’t be strange for a request to transport rental mechs to Koroge Iwa Garage, so that might be a good target as well.
After an hour of nervous waiting, Chihaya, who had begun passionately singing anime songs again with a mic in hand, received a message accepting her participation.
ㅤ
. . . . . .A, All right!”
ㅤ
Everything went as planned, and Chihaya grins, chuckling softly.
ㅤ
“With this, if I can quickly and accurately handle the surveying, the clan members will recognize me, and I might get called upon. . . . . .”
ㅤ
If she can join the private clan 『New World Tree Housing』, she might be able to handle surveying requests without having to fight in the future. With such pie-in-the-sky calculations, Chihaya’s smile deepens.
ㅤ
“If that’s the case, I have to take the mech to Koroge Iwa Garage.”
ㅤ
Eagerly, Chihaya sets up the equipment and installs the surveying app on the computer.
It wasn’t just Chihaya’s All-Rounder that was leaving Wagawa Garage. On the way, other mechs like the Psycholons and the Leaf Sprinters were running to Koroge Iwa Garage as well.
These were almost all of her companions for this occasion.
ㅤ
“Wo~w, it’s so reassuring. . . . . .FUhehe.”
ㅤ
This request is too easy, Chihaya thinks, raising a flag, while she checks the behavior of the newly installed app.
It might have been surprisingly good that she departed from Wagawa Garage. The app for surveying had a few quirks.
It seems that the app conducts the survey by taking a picture and importing the image data. Actanoid sets the height and angle, and accurately holds the camera, so it’s possible to do this with the app.
ㅤ
However, it’s not possible to create an accurate map from just one image. Additional photos from different angles were needed to fill in the blind spots.
With the wide field of view of a Psycholon, there’s no need to carry equipment. It can create a map just by filming and moving.
Regretting a little that she should have rented a Psycholon instead of an All-Rounder, Chihaya’s All-Rounder entered Koroge Iwa Garage.
