Ashe and Lapis rode on Marcosias and Gryphon respectively, battling their foes.
Lapis on the ground and Ashe in the air, each showcased their abilities, supporting one another against the demon beasts.

“Marcosias, 『Ice Break』!!”

The breath Marcosias released turned the orc in front of him into an ice statue, which he then shattered with a charge. Holding a sword made of ice, Lapis struck down a large winged insect that approached her.
There was an overwhelming number of demon beasts. Some were brought by Midgardsorm, while others were recklessly unleashed by Bahamut. These creatures stormed into the village, destroying houses and fields and attacking livestock.

“Gryphon, 『Air Thrust』!!”

Blades of wind sliced through the demon beasts.
Several houses were destroyed, and a few orcs were seen feasting on a slain cow.
And nearing the stable where the horses pulling Esterize’s horse carriage were kept, a kobold approached.

“Damn. . . . . .Lapis, can you handle it?!”
“Ugh. . . . . .”
ㅤ
Several kobolds moved toward the stable.
However, both Lapis and Ridelle were overwhelmed with their demon beast adversaries.
Suddenly, multiple rocks flew in, crushing the kobolds.

“I won’t let them harm the horses!”
ㅤ
Fugil emerged from the stable.
The rocks that had flown in began to merge, taking a humanoid form.
It was Fugil’s Summoned beast, a golem, which had the ability “『Reconstruction』.” It could rearrange its stone body into various shapes, or in this instance, form a single rock and smash down upon foes.
Still, some kobolds remained, growling and ready to pounce on Fugil.

『Gyuuurururu!!』
“Haah!!”
『Gyaruru?!』

But then━━the kobold’s head was cleanly severed.
Ashe saw it all from the sky.
ㅤ
“Grits!!”
ㅤ
The one wielding the spear was Grits.
He twirled his spear with precision, readying himself.
The spear he held was named 『Break Lance』, an Equipment-type Summoned beast.
“Fugil-senpai! I’ll protect you!”
“Thank you, I’m counting on you.”

Partner-type Summoned beasts possess their own abilities, which often leaves the summoner vulnerable. The general strategy involves either riding the Summoned beast into battle or pairing up with a summoner who wields an Equipment-type Summoned beast.
Grits confidently spun his spear, pointing it at the demon beasts.

“Fugil-senpai, we must defend the horse carriage! 『Tamapiyo』 is on board. . . . . .I swear I’ll protect it!”
“Of course. We must protect that adorable chick!”
“”. . . . . .Tamapiyo.””

Apparently, it’s the name of a yellow Dimension sparrow.
Surprisingly cute, it seems to share the same naming sense as Ashe and the others.
Kobolds seem to have targeted Grits and are gathering around.

“Hmph. Let me educate you. My family, the Lansador Baron clan, are renowned spear masters! Experience the combination of Lansador spear technique and my Summoned beast’s power. . . . . .Ready for a taste?”

Grits exuded confidence.
Ashe and Lapis exchanged glances, nodding subtly. They trusted him with the horse carriage and the horses.

“Lapis, let’s strike them down in one go!”
“Yes!”

The horde of demon beasts was far from depleted.

Yorha was running through the village.

After peeking into a few houses, Yorha noticed that some houses looked like they were hastily abandoned, while others didn’t. There were homes where only essential belongings were taken and homes that looked like the inhabitants fled in panic.

“What’s going on? What’s this uneasy feeling?”

As Yorha pondered, a few demon beasts surrounded her.
These demon beasts were orcs. There were three of them. . . . . .Yorha clicked her tongue and glared at the orcs.

“How annoying. . . . . .”
ㅤ
Then, she snapped her fingers.
What appeared was a woman holding a massive mirror.
“Summon, 『Gate・of・Isolde』.”
ㅤ
Ripples spread across the mirror the woman held, and from within, 『Summoned beasts』 emerged.
A large tiger, a knight wielding a sword, and a three-headed dog. All of them were B to C class Summoned beasts. Yorha gave a single command.

“By the princess’s order. Attack.”
ㅤ
Immediately, the Summoned beasts lunged at the orcs.
Yorha, not watching the battle, placed a hand on her chin, deep in thought.
ㅤ
“This organized escape, they must have known in advance. . . . . .Did they know about the demon beast attack? But why didn’t the other villagers know?. . . . . .And what’s the relationship between the fleeing villagers?”

The knight with the sword cleaved an orc in two, the three-headed dog killed an orc by biting, and the large tiger was already munching on an orc’s head.

“I have a bad feeling. . . . . .It seems I need to investigate. But I don’t have any reliable subordinates. Neither Fugin nor Munin are here. . . . . .it seems I have to act on my own.”

The orcs that surrounded Yorha were annihilated. The Summoned beasts returned into the 『mirror』.
The unique ability of the special type Summoned beast 『Gate・of・Isolde』 is 『Master-Servant Summoning』. Yorha can summon the Summoned beasts of a summoner who recognizes her as a master.
Yorha can borrow and control the Summoned beasts of all the summoners in her private squad. As long as they pledge loyalty and admiration to Yorha, her strength is limitless.
Of course, there are various limitations.

Yorha started running again.
