The Magic of “Analysis” Sees Through Everything – Chapter 27

“This way!”

Luke, while leaping out, once again launches a explosive at the chimera.

Knowing it won’t work, this is just a provocation to draw its attention.

As expected, the chimera glares at Luke with a ferocious roar.

Just as the lion’s mouth opens wide, flames are shot towards Luke.

Luke narrowly dodges them.

His cape, grazed by the flames, catches fire.

Luke throws it away as he rolls on the ground.

Luke’s unique magic, “Analysis,” can examine anything, but it has a flaw.

It requires a certain amount of time to complete the analysis.

To analyze the enemy’s combat strength and weaknesses, he must endure some attacks.

“Seems like it’s going to be tough this time too.”

Luke confronts the chimera with a fearless smile.

The lion’s eyes briefly glance sideways.

In the shadow of a rock, the extermination team is hiding.

“You won’t succeed. . . Ice Spear!”

Luke fires a freezing spear, but the chimera jumps high, dodging it and clinging to the dome wall like a mountain goat, then shoots flames towards the rock where the team is hiding.

“Damn it!”

As Luke tries to deploy a defense spell, a shadow jumps from the rock, blocking the incoming flames.

“Alma?!”

It’s Alma, wielding a huge shield.

“Luke, leave this to me!”

“No! It’s too dangerous! Stay hidden!”

“I refuse!”

Alma shouts.

“I want to be of help to Luke too! Didn’t I say we’d become Magic Knights together? It’s not that I want to be behind Luke! I want to be by your side!”

Luke’s heart leaped at those words.

(What was I thinking. . . about protecting Alma? Has she ever wished for such a thing even once?)

(And moreover, I wasn’t here because I wanted to protect Alma, but because I wanted to become Magic Knights together. Even when faced with the harshest training from my master, I persevered, all because that was our goal. And yet, how arrogant I was to think that I could protect Alma!)

The chimera, leaping from the wall, tries to crush Alma with its giant goat hooves.

“You. . . no. . .!”

However, Alma deflects it with her shield.

Seizing the moment, Luke rushes to Alma.

“Sorry, I was wrong. Alma, will you fight with me? Together, we can defeat it. I’m sure we can.”

Alma’s eyes sparkle at Luke’s words.

“Of course! That’s why I’m here!”

“Thank you. I’m glad to hear you say that.”

The two exchange smiles and turn back to face the chimera.

The chimera, regaining its stance, growls ominously as it stands in front of them.

Luke removed his left-hand long glove and added his right hand.

As he opened both sides like drawing a sword, part of his Adamant Slime prosthetic arm transformed into a sword.

This is Luke’s weapon, the Ideograph Sword, which changes shape according to his will.

“First, let’s figure out its weakness. Alma, I’m counting on you to handle the snake’s defense. I’ll take care of the lion and the goat!”

“Understood!”

As Alma leaped out, Luke flicked his left hand’s fingers.

“Flash!”

A dazzling light robbed the chimera’s vision.

“GROAAARRR!”

“Now!”

Seizing the opportunity as the blinded chimera rampaged blindly, Alma pounced on its rear.

When she tried to strike it sideways with her huge shield, the snake’s tail spat venom at Alma.

“Whoa.”

She hastily blocked it with her shield, but the venom began to melt it away.

“Damn it!”

Alma threw the shield at the snake and then punched it with an iron fist.

The snake recoiled with a metallic sound.

However, it seemed that the flexible snake was not greatly affected. It turned its venomous gaze toward Alma once more, making a gruesome scraping noise.

Luke rushed over to the scene.

“Alma, are you okay?!”

“I’m okay!. . . But it doesn’t seem to have much effect.”

“It looks that way. This chimera is proving to be a formidable opponent. It has three heads, so it can defend against attacks from all directions and moves quickly. Plus, its resistance to magic is unbelievably high, rendering our spells ineffective. Physical attacks seem to work to some extent, but its regenerative abilities are terrifyingly fast.”

Luke’s sword had left several wounds on the chimera’s body, but they were beginning to close up even as they watched.

“What do we do? Magic and regular attacks aren’t working. . .”

“Don’t worry. I’ve figured it out.”

Luke placed a reassuring hand on Alma’s shoulder and smiled.

“Alma, can you go to the others and deliver a message for me? When I give the signal, I want them to launch a coordinated attack.”

“But that means you. . .”

Alma started to object, but she looked into Luke’s eyes and nodded with determination.

“I understand. But don’t push yourself too hard.”

“Of course not. I’m doing this because I believe in you, Alma, and everyone else. Now, go!”

Luke leaped forward toward the chimera.

In the meantime, Alma dashed towards a rocky hiding spot.

“Let the second round begin!”

Luke cast an ice spear towards the chimera.

The chimera leaped out of the way just before the spell could hit.

“I figured you’d do that. . . but we can do the same. Collapse!”

Along with Luke’s words, the protective dome surrounding the chimera crumbled and fell.

However, just before falling, the chimera managed to regain its footing and attempted to leap again.

. . .Or so it thought, but right before that, the ground beneath its feet crumbled like sand, causing it to fall and collapse.

Luke had precast the collapse magic at the landing point.

The lion’s throat expanded greatly.

It was about to unleash a fiery attack!

“Restrict with Rock Vines!”

Rocks transformed into vines and ensnared the chimera’s neck to the ground.

Flames that had been aimed in a different direction sliced through the rocky wall of the dome.

Sssshhh!

With a scraping sound, the snake’s head lunged, but in a flash of purple lightning, Luke’s sword, the Ideograph Sword, severed the snake’s head.

“Now!”

At the signal, the assault team rushed forward all at once.
