The moment he opened his eyes, Krimson, who had been behind him, brushed past Fiden’s shoulder and walked forward. Fiden tried to stop him, but it was already too late to catch up with him walking forward without hesitation.

“What is the so-called captain of the guards doing now? Why are you being so slow? Who are you protecting?”

“Wait a minute. Let’s let those guys handle it.”

“Okay. Since this place will soon be my territory, it would be great to take care of it myself so that there is no noise.”

Krimson said while glancing at Joseph, who was standing behind him. However, Joseph could not respond to his provocation and just bit his lips tightly. Krimson seemed to be pleased with that and shrugged his shoulders.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘰 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯.’

Krimson was currently the most powerful baron candidate, but he couldn’t ignore Joseph, the direct son of a viscount family. That’s why Krimson, a B-class mercenary, always tried to flaunt his power in front of Joseph somehow.

However, this was clearly something that the guards should take care of. That’s why Fiden tried to stop Krimson. But the moment he took a step forward, his eyes met the man standing in front of him for a moment.

Despite the urgent situation, the man’s eyes were too calm, and there was a faint smile on his lips.

Fiden was taken aback by the man’s actions, which seemed so out of touch with the situation he was in, and he ended up missing the chance to step forward.

“Ahem, okay.”

Krimson, who was unaware of the situation, nodded in satisfaction as he watched Fiden not stopping him. And at Krimson’s gesture, one of his men with a snake tattoo on his face and both arms stepped forward.

“Caw, hey! What? You’re the baron? Look at this little beggar. What’s your name?”

“. . .”

“Damn it, he’s ignoring me. You’re not going to answer?”

He grumbled and circled around the man. In his hand, a drawn sword was already whirling. However, the man didn’t flinch like he did at first and just looked beyond the gate. At that, the mercenary spoke to his colleagues behind him.

“Hahahahaha, what? Is this little bastard a punk who doesn’t know his place?”

“Take it easy. He’s going to piss his pants. Or just cut that off before you see something dirty.”

“That’s even dirtier, man. And won’t the soldiers clean up the piss?”

“Ahem, that’s true. Then it’d be better to kill him, right? Those guys are experts in cleaning up bodies. Instead, tell them to cut it up into small pieces so that it’s easy to clean up.”

The mercenaries had a gruesome conversation as if to shake the man’s composure. It seemed like it wasn’t the first or second time they had done something like this, so they were very natural. Then suddenly, the mercenary with the snake tattoo lit up his eyes as he looked at the greatsword hanging behind the man.

“This bastard is carrying a big sword. Can you even swing it properly?”

“Don’t touch it.”

That was when the man’s mouth opened for the first time. And the moment everyone heard his voice, they unknowingly shivered.

The mercenary with the snake tattoo was the same. The man’s voice contained no emotion, but it had the power to intimidate the surroundings.

It was not a voice filled with fear at all.

“W-What? This bastard is setting the mood dirty. Why, what are you going to do if I touch your sword? Are you going to cut off my hand?”

The mercenary threatened the man while thrusting his sword forward. The other mercenaries, who sensed something strange, slowly surrounded the man.

A sense of unease washed over them, but it was already too late to back down.

The world of mercenaries is harsh.

This is a place where those who are easy to see disappear without a sound.

Once you start, you have to crush your opponent no matter what.

“The moment you touch it, you’re dead.”

The man said again in a dry voice, and the mercenary with the snake tattoo ignored his words, calling him a crazy bastard, and reached out his left hand towards the greatsword. And that’s when the man’s body moved like lightning.
