After eating Cockatrice kebab, Witch Marie and her servant Kaito visit the town.

Since it was late, they spent the night at an inn and headed to their intended location the next day.

The town had regained its peace following the Cockatrice incident.

However, Marie and Kaito were unaware of what had happened, let alone that the crisis in the town was caused by the Cockatrice that Marie had defeated.

“Here we are, the magic tool shop.”

“My cooking utensils are inside there!”

Magic tools. Special items infused with magic. Currently, there are no makers for them.

Although it’s called a magic tool shop, what they’re really doing is reselling items that once existed or repairing broken items.

“But why would cooking utensils be sold at a magic tool shop?”

“The cooking utensils I got from my grandma each have magic infused in them!”

“Oh… did your grandma infuse them with magic?”

“No, she said she just modified existing magic tools.”

I see. In a world where the only magic user other than Marie is nonexistent, people seem to combine existing magic tools to create new ones.

“Well, fine. Let’s quickly retrieve them.”

Marie and Kaito enter the magic tool shop.

Inside, items that looked like antiques were displayed.

Armor, swords, crystal balls. All infused with magic. But. . . . . .

“What are these. . . . . .poor quality magic tools. . . . . .”

From the perspective of Marie, who has memories of her past life as Witch Goddess Lovmarie, the tools in the shop were all of low quality.

Can’t be helped. There’s no one who can create new magic tools now.

Using old items now isn’t strange, given the wear and tear over the years.

“Marie-sama, have you never bought a magic tool before?”

In her past life, she was on the creating end, and in this life, she is a noble daughter, so she never had the opportunity to buy magic tools.

“Yes. . . . . .but aren’t these overpriced?”

Then. . . . . .

“What did ya say!”

An obstinate-looking elderly dwarf emerges from the back of the shop.

Dwarf. Short in stature but muscular, with a bushy beard. Also, they’re skillful with their hands, a trait unchanged from their past life. . . . . .or so one would think.

Marie instinctively checks for magical power. A moderate amount is present.

“Are you the owner?”

“Yes, I am! You’re complaining about my magic tools, eh? Who do you think I am?!”

Ignoring the enraged dwarf, Marie calmly responds.

“I don’t know.”

Marie is unfazed. She finds a dwarf like this neither scary nor intimidating.

Compared to the Demon King, at least.

On the other hand, the dwarf feels overwhelmed by the strange aura Marie exudes.

“. . . . . .Hmph. So, what are you here for? You didn’t come to nitpick my magic tools, did you?”

“Yes. Could you show me some magic tools?”

“Everything is out there in the store.”

“Behind the store.”

Marie points her finger swiftly.

“You have it, don’t you? The best magic tool.”

“! H, How. . . . . .how did you know?”

“Why wouldn’t I? Shouldn’t you be able to tell by the magical power infused in that magic tool?”

Marie is a top-tier magician. Not only can she use magic, but she is also highly skilled at detecting magical power.

A magic tool is an item that has been imbued with magic. Since magic requires magical power, it means that magical power is also infused into the magic tool.

Magic tools that demonstrate high magical power have a correspondingly high level of magical power infused into them. Marie could sense something emanating an enormous amount of magical power from the back of the store.

“. . . . . .”

The dwarf realizes that Marie is no ordinary person. He quietly retreats to the back of the store and brings out the item she is looking for.

“Ah! My seven tools!”

“This rug. . . . . .?”

What was placed on the counter was a single mat. It was rolled up.

“Yes! One of the seven tools is the 【Magic Cooking Mat】.”

“A cooking mat. . . . . .so it’s not just an ordinary rug.”

Marie could see that this magic tool had an enormous amount of magical power infused into it. Hmm. . . . . .

“It’s a pretty good magic tool. I wonder who made it?”

“The grandma who gave it to me said she modified a tool she received from someone else.”

It seems that it was created by someone other than this grandma from her hometown.

“What are you doing? Are you the owner of this magic tool?”

“Yes, it’s his. Can you please give it back?”

“No.”

“Why?”

The dwarf hugs the magic tool tightly.

“Why would I part with such a magnificent, one-of-a-kind magic tool?!”

“Ah. . . . . .”

“This magic tool is so amazing that there’s probably nothing like it anywhere in the world. I might be able to create my own magic tool by studying this one.”

It seems that this craftsman wants to create his own magic tool.

Marie thinks that it’s not impossible since it has magical power.

“I see. So it’s like a reference book, although it’s an object, not a book.”

“That’s right! That’s why I can’t sell it! No matter how much money you offer!”

“Oh, come on. . . . . .”

Kaito’s expression sinks into despair. To him, this is an important cooking tool.

Marie couldn’t care less about his sentimental attachment. All she needs is for this Kaito to get his tools in order so she can eat delicious food.

“So, you said you won’t part with it no matter how much money is offered, right?”

“Indeed, even if you offer a national budget!”

“How about exchanging it for another magic tool?”

“What? Another magic tool. . . . . .?”

“Yes. I’ll make one. Right here, right now.”

“Do you have a magic tool to serve as the material?”

“No.”

The dwarf snorts, mocking Marie’s ignorance.

“Listen, young lady. Currently, the only way to create a magic tool is to use an existing one as material and combine them.”

“That may be factually true, but it’s not the ultimate truth.”

Marie extends her right hand forward.

Then, a Magic Circle appears in the empty space.

She reaches into it and pulls out a broom.

“Ah, the broom that Witch-sama used to ride.”

“What, wha, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!”

The dwarf’s eyes widen as he stares intently at Marie.

“W, What are you doing?!”

“I just took this out from a different dimension.”

“A different dimension? Nonsense. That’s spatial storage magic. . . . . .How does a little girl like you. . . . . .”

Marie picks up a broom and quickly pushes it toward the dwarf.

“How about this? A flying broom.”

“Flying? Impossible! There’s no such thing as a flying magical tool in this world!”

In this world where magic has declined, the only means of flight is riding a dragon.

Flying magic is advanced magic to begin with, and enchanting something with it requires even more advanced skills.

Therefore, in this future world, there are no magical tools enchanted with flight magic.

“You’re not lying, are you?”

“Why don’t you try it for yourself?”

The dwarf gives Marie a skeptical look. However, the fact remains that she demonstrated spatial magic.

The dwarf hesitantly picks up the broom and straddles it.

He gently floats into the air.

“What?! What is thiiiiiiiiiiiis?!”

The dwarf flies gently through the sky. The magical tool seems to work without any issues.

“Would you like to trade for this?”

“Witch-sama, are you sure? For someone like me. . . . . .”

“It’s fine.”

After all, it’s just a broom that was lying around in the castle’s garbage, with magic casually added to it.

However, Kaito was once again deeply moved. “For someone like me! To let go of such an amazing magical tool! Thank you!”

Marie simply let it slide, as it was too much trouble to deal with.

Meanwhile. . . . . .

“What are you. . . . . .doing?”

The dwarf dismounts from the broom and prostrates himself on the ground.

“I am deeply sorry for my rudeness!”

The dwarf has realized. The person standing before him is someone who uses lost magic. . . . . .a truly incredible individual.

And the creator of the magical tool he had been searching for.

“What can I do to make it up to you!”

“Just give back this child’s cooking utensils.”

“Of course! Please take them back!”

Marie sighs and picks up the mat on the counter.

“Here, I got it back.”

“Thank you! Wow! Witch-sama, you are so kind!”

It’s not like there was any reason to be thankful; she just wanted to eat something delicious.

Marie stores it away using her spatial magic.

“I’m sorry for the disturbance.”

“Wait, please! Great Witch-sama!”

. . . . . .A great witch?

The dwarf continues to prostrate himself, pleading with Marie.

“Could you please make me, your humble servant, your apprentice in creating these marvelous magical tools!”

What will be Marie’s response?

“Of course. . . . . .not.”
