Returning to the live-in house, I decided to change into my uniform after placing my luggage in a spacious room on the first floor.

The high-quality fabric used in the garment is elegant and lightweight. The pale green attire is a mark of those who work in the royal castle.

Only the royal family can wear turquoise blue. Those permitted to wear a color even remotely similar are individuals of a certain status working in the castle and the royal relatives.

Gathering my bouncing hair into a single bundle, I decided to head back to work. It’s a five-minute walk to the dormitory of the Fourth Knight Order.

Walking down a path surrounded by trees that might as well be a forest, the view opens up. Another two-minute walk from there leads to the back entrance.

Upon reaching the kitchen, I first decided to check the ingredients. Beef, pork, duck, chicken. Plenty of vegetables. Plenty of fish. Plenty of wheat and rice.

I donned my apron and decided to let loose.

I’ll consider the person I’m cooking for to be a student athlete. There are older people, but no one old enough to cause indigestion. I should just make dishes that would lift the spirits of a high schooler coming home tired from club activities. With this thought, my worries from when I decided to take on this job cleared up.

Making familiar dishes should suffice, and that alone would be B-class gourmet food that commoners eat.

For dinner, I decided to make fried chicken, fish marinated in vinegar and soy sauce, a vegetable-rich soup, and a salad with turnips, fruits, and prosciutto.

With the help of my prep assistant, I started frying the chicken to match the dinner time. Since the knights had told me that it’s fine if they do some things themselves, I decided to heap it onto a large plate with a warming function.

The marinated fish and turnip salad were neatly arranged on two large plates with a cooling function and stored in the fridge. As I left the frying to a skilled pot, I prepared the plates and cutlery.

Around the time the third batch of fried chicken was done, the door opened. Leading the group was a handsome man who gave me goosebumps, just like earlier in the day.

I was unsure how to greet him, so I decided to mix everything up.

“Good work today, welcome back. Dinner is ready.”

Somehow, I felt like I had turned into a momly figure.

As expected, the handsome man stared at me in surprise, so I simply looked at the counter table without changing my expression.

“Please take as much as you like. I will serve rice and soup here, so if it’s not enough, please ask for more.”

“So we serve ourselves onto the plates?”

“If there was another me, I could serve each of you individually. However, I can’t clone myself, so I’ve set it up this way. Would you prefer if I serve each of you, even if it takes time?”

The handsome man thought for a moment and shook his head lightly.

“If we’re going to war, a knight who can’t do something as simple as this would be a burden. We’ll serve ourselves.”

“Understood.”

With unfamiliar hands, the handsome man picked up the fried chicken with tongs.

“What’s this?”

“It’s fried chicken.”

“Fried chicken.”

“Yes.”

Could it be that he doesn’t know what fried chicken is?

My parents can’t eat greasy foods, but Thor loves it. Because the sister-obsessed Thor bragged about it, Thor’s friends came to eat the fried chicken I make. They are all growing boys and ate heartily, so I’ve been asked to make it several times since.

The goosebump-inducing handsome man thought for a moment and took three pieces of fried chicken. Everyone was taking modest amounts, so it looked like there would be leftovers.

Inwardly letting out a quiet sigh, I stared at the mountain of fried chicken. Should I freeze it and eat it bit by bit?

Amidst this, a cute guy with light pink hair of the Johnny’s type grabbed a hearty amount of fried chicken. I inadvertently looked up, and our eyes met.

“I’ve had something similar before. It’s delicious.”

While I was hesitating about how to respond, Johnny’s boy band quickly left. Behind him, there were many good-looking guys with friendly smiles also leaving.

“It smells amazing! I’m looking forward to eating it!”

“Ah. . .welcome back. Please eat a lot.”

Although I inadvertently said something like that to Thor, the puppy-like handsome guy didn’t seem to mind and smiled brightly.

“Thank you!”

Just with that word alone, even if a lot was left over, I felt like today was a good day.

While I was cleaning up, voices of astonishment from the knights came flying in.

“T, This is delicious!”

“What is this, it’s tasty!”

“Certainly. . .it’s a bit greasy, but that’s actually a good thing.”

“It would go great with alcohol! It’s a shame we can’t drink here!”

The goosebump-inducing handsome guy came over with an already empty plate.

“Um. . .may I have seconds?”

For the first time since I came here, I smiled broadly.

“Of course.”
