The day of the final exams for the second semester finally dawned.
However, Baek Ji-eun, who had gathered us after reading the urgent notice that came in last night, opened her mouth with a troubled expression.
“I think some of you have already heard the news this morning, but the exams have been postponed all of a sudden.”
“What? Postponed?”
“I don’t know the exact details either, but it seems that our Cheonghwa Academy has been invited to an event hosted by the Royal Academy of Spain.”
Baek Ji-eun’s words were completely unexpected to me.

Since the final exams for the second semester were conducted separately for each grade, the original work only covered the exams for the first year where the main characters were, and there was no mention of the second year at all.
Therefore, it was difficult to guess whether this was an event that was originally supposed to happen or if it was something that changed in the future.

It’s a force that first appeared in the third installment of the series, which featured many stories set in foreign countries.
I remember that their status was evaluated to be higher than Cheonghwa Academy, not only in their own country but also internationally.
At Baek Ji-eun’s words, the gazes of the students nearby gathered in one place.
It was in the direction of Adrian, an exchange student from the Royal Academy of Spain.
“Why are you all looking at me? This is the first time I’m hearing about it too.”
“No, I was just curious.”
“That place is really famous in Europe, you know.”
Although most of the reactions were of surprise, the general consensus was that it wouldn’t be a bad thing if the exams were postponed.
“It would be a bit awkward to refuse, you know. Anyway, we’re going to select some candidates. All expenses will be covered by them. Most of those with good grades or those who can use the interpreting technique will be able to go.”
“What’s the schedule?”
“We’ll participate in the event first, and then there’s a separate schedule after that. It was decided in a hurry, but they’ve come up with a plan that includes free time, so please check the notice and apply if you’re interested.”
After delivering only the relevant information, Baek Ji-eun quickly left, saying that she had something urgent to attend to.
Since it was quite special news, the students in the class began to get excited, each talking about related topics.
“But why us? It’s not like there aren’t any famous academies nearby.”

Adrian was the one who answered the students’ questions.
“From what I understand, there were quite a few people interested in oriental magic when I was there. That probably had something to do with it.”
If that was the case, it made sense. Perhaps the academy’s upper management wanted to take this opportunity to increase communication since there hadn’t been any noticeable connections with them until now.

Jung Han-sol, who seemed to be lost in thought just like me, approached me.
“Hmm. A sudden trip abroad. Kang Yoon, are you going?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t seem very enthusiastic. But who knows? You might get to meet that famous princess. Adrian said she’s in the same grade as us.”
Even if she’s a princess, it’s a story from a faraway land to me.
After thinking it over, I came to the conclusion that it would be better for me to stay at the academy.
It would be much easier to train here, and even if I went, I didn’t think it would help me grow in any way.

“They said they’re only taking a few people from the volunteers. I heard that first-years weren’t originally included? So they’ve postponed the exams for us too.”
The exams for the first-years were also postponed. That meant that this was definitely an event that didn’t happen in the original work.

Since there were changes in events depending on the difficulty level, it was possible that this was just a newly added event that was part of the main story.
In that case, there was only one thing I needed to confirm.
I looked at Cheong Juhwa, who was throwing talismans at a practice target, and asked her a question.
“Is there anyone from Class A of the first year going?”
“Ha-on and Eun-seo have already applied. They said it’s a good opportunity to broaden their horizons. Since their grades are good, they’ll probably get accepted unless something unexpected happens.”
