Ch 308: The Blood Bodhisattva
A silver-bell-like laugh came from deep within the maple forest, and a woman in red clothes gracefully approached, stepping on the maple leaves.
She was barefoot, with a string of bronze bells tied around her ankles, each step emitting a clear sound. Most strangely, she was holding not a weapon, but a bronze mirror.
“Seventh Young Master, you have keen eyesight,” the woman’s red lips parted slightly. “This humble one is Blood Bodhisattva, here to see you off.”
Li Hanzhou’s gaze sharpened. He noticed seven red silks fluttering behind the woman, each silk’s end tied with a bronze bell, the bells engraved with strange runes. Even stranger, the maple leaves weren’t being moved by her internal force, but by the sound of the bells.
“Blood Bodhisattva?”
Li Hanzhou laughed at the name. “Just say Tang Sect traitor, why give yourself such a laughable title? It’s so childish.”
Zhao Qing’er, however, looked nervous.
“Young Master, she is the Blood Bodhisattva!”
Zhao Qing’er couldn’t help but say, “The Blood Bodhisattva is a renowned assassin in Jianghu. Although she isn’t from the Blood Sacrifice Pavilion, she’s famous throughout Jianghu. Those targeted by her rarely survive.”
“It’s just a rumor that Blood Bodhisattva hasn’t appeared in Jianghu for many years. Yet today, she appears here.”
“Oh?”
Li Hanzhou was surprised. “So the Blood Bodhisattva actually gives me face, willing to come and kill me, a nobody?”
Blood Bodhisattva covered her lips and chuckled. “Young Master is joking. Someone paid double the price to have you die… in pieces.” She suddenly pointed the bronze mirror at Li Hanzhou. “Like this!”
Ripples appeared on the mirror’s surface, and seven red silks shot out like venomous snakes, the sound of the bells painfully jarring the eardrums.
“Spirit Treasure?”
The red silks wrapped around Li Hanzhou’s limbs, binding him. Blood Bodhisattva giggled, saying, “Without that expert from your Xiao Mansion, killing you, Xiao Han, should be easy. Those Blood Sacrifice Pavilion assassins were really unlucky.”
“Expert?”
Li Hanzhou chuckled softly upon hearing this, his internal force surging. In an instant, sword qi burst forth, instantly tearing apart all the red silks, which retracted as soon as they were severed.
“Sword Qi!”
Blood Bodhisattva’s expression turned serious. “I didn’t expect you to be a hidden expert.”
Li Hanzhou reached out and gently pinched a fallen maple leaf. “Blood Bodhisattva, do you know why maple leaves are red?”
Before Blood Bodhisattva could answer, the maple leaf in Li Hanzhou’s hand suddenly flew out, accompanied by a shocking sword intent!
Blood Bodhisattva immediately blocked with her bronze mirror, but the seemingly fragile maple leaf shattered her mirror and pierced her shoulder.
Blood Bodhisattva was greatly surprised.
She was a Heavenly Gang Realm expert, yet she was injured by Li Hanzhou in a single encounter!
“Because they’ve drunk too much blood.”
Just as Blood Bodhisattva tried to struggle, Li Hanzhou appeared before her, two fingers already pressed against her throat.
Blood Bodhisattva felt that Li Hanzhou’s fingers could send sword qi through her throat at any moment.
“I won’t kill you.”
“Go back and tell Xiao Wenxin that if he wants to kill me, he should come himself.”
“And tell him that if he wants to be the heir, he should give up that idea.”
Facing Li Hanzhou, Blood Bodhisattva felt immense pressure, yet no matter how she looked at him, he only had Sixth Rank cultivation.
Why did a Sixth Rank martial artist give her such pressure?
“Qing’er, let’s go.”
Li Hanzhou mounted his horse and left with Zhao Qing’er.
Two days later, Li Hanzhou and Zhao Qing’er finally arrived at Famous Sword Villa.
Besides Li Hanzhou, many others from various sects had also come to Famous Sword Villa to seek entry into the Sword Forest.
“Lin Di, Young Master of Dragon Abyss Pavilion, requests entry!”
Outside Famous Sword Villa, a richly dressed young man with his servants waited outside.
Many sought entry. Hearing this name, they all turned to look at Lin Di.
For the Dragon Abyss Pavilion’s name was quite resounding in Dongyan Province.
This Young Master of the Dragon Abyss Pavilion had already reached the Transcendent Realm in cultivation.
“Young Master Lin, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
At that moment, an old man walked out from Famous Sword Villa, greeting Lin Di with a smile, his gaze also sweeping across the other Jianghu people waiting.
“Greetings, Senior Nangong.”
At this moment, a young girl stepped forward from the crowd. Her clothing was different from others, yet she gave off a spirited feeling.
And from this girl, one could sense a pure sword intent.
“Successor of the Nanzhao Witch Sword.”
The old man glanced at the girl. “Your master should be the Nanzhao Sword Immortal, Wu Ming, right?”
“Senior Nangong still remembers my master,” the girl said respectfully. “Junior Wu Sisi.”
“Hmm.”
The old man nodded without further comment.
But others began to discuss. Nanzhao was a small country, not even a proper one, yet the Nanzhao Sword Immortal’s name was renowned. No one expected this young girl to be the Sword Immortal’s successor.
Even Lin Di of Dragon Abyss Pavilion looked at Wu Sisi, his gaze wary.
He felt she would be a formidable opponent in the Sword Forest assessment.
“Since everyone’s here, let’s enter the villa and go to the Sword Forest,” the old man said. “But let me say this beforehand, once you enter the Sword Forest, life and death are your own responsibility.”
“Yes!”
Everyone answered in unison.
They all understood the rules of Famous Sword Villa.
But at that moment, the sound of horses’ hooves approached. Everyone turned to see a young man in white robes and a young woman in green robes riding a single horse.
It was Li Hanzhou and Zhao Qing’er.
“Sorry we’re late.”
Li Hanzhou arrived before the mountain gate and bowed to the old man.
The old man looked at Li Hanzhou, his expression surprised.
“Are you perhaps Xiao Han, the seventh son of the King of Northern Qi?” the old man asked in surprise.
“It is I.”
Li Hanzhou wasn’t surprised the old man recognized him. Famous Sword Villa was known as the number one villa in the world, its intelligence network was undoubtedly strong.
“Xiao Han?”
The others’ expressions turned strange.
Some were puzzled, seeing the change in others’ faces. They curiously asked, “What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with this Xiao Han?”
“This Xiao Han is the seventh son of the King of Northern Qi, a useless, ignorant fool. Why is he here? His father, the King of Northern Qi, once tried to pass the Sword Forest to take the Cold Sparrow sword, but failed twice. Is his useless son here to die today?”
“A Sixth Rank trying the Sword Forest?”
Lin Di smiled.
He thought Li Hanzhou was courting death.
With such cultivation, wouldn’t he be killed by the sword qi in the Sword Forest within a few steps?
