After finishing breakfast, he checked out the newspaper during my leisure time before heading to school.
Kid carelessly tossed the newspaper.
ㅤ
“Honestly, it’s like these fools won’t get it unless they’re decimated by a demon.”
ㅤ
But Kid didn’t seem all that angry.
He threw the newspaper away with disdain and quickly drank a glass of water.
Ashe and Lapis seemed a bit down.
ㅤ
“Look at this awful article. . . . . .『S-class summoner Albero・Rushout, truly the image of a demon beast』. Isn’t this the image of Mog. . . . . .of Jabberwock?”
“It’s terrible. . . . . .Albero was so strong and cool.”
“Well, I don’t really care.”
ㅤ
Albero too sipped his orange juice with apparent disinterest.
Surprisingly, the two guys didn’t seem too concerned.
However, Yorha was different. Clutching the tattered newspaper, she kept switching the crossing of her legs.
ㅤ
“Protest. . . . . .No, that damned old man. . . . . .What to do. . . . . .Weakness. . . . . .No good, evidence. . . . . .(muttering).”
ㅤ
She was muttering something to herself.
Everyone ignored her because it was scary.
Ridelle kept sighing, seemingly conflicted as one who had been in the battle.
ㅤ
“Sigh. . . . . .They called me 『the merciless red devil』. Was I that terrible? I was just fighting normally. . . . . .sigh.”
“R, Ridelle. It’s okay! I think you’re cool!”
“Thanks, Lapis. . . . . .”
ㅤ
Ridelle gave Lapis a weary smile.
Then, after finishing his drink, Kid stood up and stretched big.
ㅤ
“You guys seem to be misunderstanding something. We aren’t fighting for popularity. It’s to crush the demons and offer up the Demon Emperor. Reputation and popularity don’t matter. Just wash it down with booze.”
“You’re late! Dumbass Nisrok! How many times have I told you not to oversleep?!”
“Sorry, little sis. . . . . .zzz.”
ㅤ
As Kid was speaking, Leivinia and Nisrok descended from the male dormitory. Both wore S-class uniforms and had concealed their horns, changed hair, skin, and eye color.
Kid glared at the two for interrupting him.
ㅤ
“Huh, what? Hey, why are you glaring at us?”
“So sleepy. . . . . .”
“Shut up. It’s almost time for school.”
ㅤ
Kid grabbed his bag and left alone.
Albero and the others followed, leaving only the crumpled newspaper in the dormitory.

ㅤ
Upon entering the S-class school building and settling into their seats, Garnet walked in.
It was homeroom before class.
ㅤ
“You saw this morning’s paper, right?”
“Morning paper? What’s that? Nisrok, do you know?”
“No idea. . . . . .”
“Little girl, be quiet. Go on, Garnet.”
“K, Kid! You can’t just call grandmother like that.”
“Hey, I told you I’m not a little girl!”
“Quiet. Garnet, continue.”
“Geez. . . . . .such a disrespectful brat.”
ㅤ
Ashe calmed Leivinia, while Lapis was surprised that Garnet wasn’t that upset. Maybe they had become friends after going out drinking several times.
Garnet cleared her throat slightly.
ㅤ
“If you saw yesterday’s mock battle and today’s morning newspaper, you’d understand. It seems the royal family pressured the newspaper company to change the article. . . . . .No, it seems the content was predetermined from the start. Well, I had suspected the prince wouldn’t defend an S-class Summoner since he himself is an A-class. But this is quite blatant.”
“. . . . . .I deeply apologize.”
“It’s not something the princess should apologize for.”
ㅤ
Yorha bows with an apologetic look.
ㅤ
“Student Council President. Seems like they changed tactics after failing to defeat Albero by strength alone. They seem desperate to erase the existence of S-class… I thought class supremacists were ridiculous, but this confirms it.”
ㅤ
Garnet mutters disdainfully.
Ashe hesitantly raises her hand.
ㅤ
“Um. . . . . .Is the king also part of this royal pressure?”
“I doubt that.”
ㅤ
Yorha denies.
ㅤ
“Probably someone else’s influence, not my brother’s. I can’t imagine him having such a cunning idea. Likely, someone requested the newspaper company in advance to favor A-class in articles, especially if there was a loss in the mock battle. I can guess who it might be.”
ㅤ
Yorha looks at Albero.
Albero sighs. It’s obviously Esterize.
Garnet comments in an annoyed tone.
ㅤ
“The article issue is one thing. The real problem is. . . . . .Oswald. Albero, he claims he’s suing you for defamation and insult. He says he was unfairly insulted during the mock battle and accused of something he didn’t recall. This supposedly led to his loss, and he’s spreading this in the staff room.”
“What. . . . . .?”
“The issue is, most of the mock battle spectators were journalists, with hardly any school staff present. There were many articles supporting A-class placed in the staff room. Oswald, in his distressed state, spoke in front of teachers who read these articles. It’s quite the plot. Many staff members now sympathize with Oswald.”
“. . . . . .”
“Albero. I have a bad feeling. . . . . .Something that can’t be resolved with just power is coming.”
“What do you mean by that?”
ㅤ
Albero was gradually getting irritated.
He thought he had settled scores. He had total victories over Esterize and Rashild, and had retaliated against Oswald. Yet, those three not only didn’t give up but were more eager to bring Albero down.
Ridelle spoke to Albero.
ㅤ
“Albero, what will you do. . . . . .?”
“. . . . . .”
ㅤ
Albero couldn’t answer.
Instead, Garnet responded.
ㅤ
“For now, let’s watch and see. Meteore and Arjan are also making moves. . . . . .I feel it’s not just school-related. I’m curious why, despite being able to watch the mock battle, Meteore and the others couldn’t.”
“Hey, if there’s a fight, I’m in.”
“Now’s not the time. Listen, Kid, don’t do anything unnecessary.”
“Tch.”
ㅤ
The sound of Kid’s tongue-clicking echoed loudly in the classroom.
