Albero turned twelve.
His body grew larger, and his hair, once straight and silky during his childhood, now turned into wavy black hair. His eyes had turned deep red, and he grew into quite a handsome young boy.
However, no matter how attractive one’s appearance might be, it doesn’t matter in this world.
Albero’s Summoned beast, named Mog, remained the size that could fit in the palm of his hand.
Albero was in the mansion’s backyard, which he now felt was as familiar as a second home.
“You’re still as small as ever, huh?”
『Mog?』
Mog curled up in Albero’s hand.
Seeing this, Albero lovingly stroked Mog.
“Sigh. . . . . .Mog, my older sister is attending the Asgard Summoning Academy. I’m sure she’ll become an A-class Summoner and lead the Rushout family. . . . . .and develop this territory.”
『Mog. . . . . .』
“Haha, don’t look so sad. I might get kicked out of the house, but I can live as a peasant.”
Summoned beasts have rankings.
When they’re young, just-born Summoned beasts are F-class. But as the summoner grows mentally and physically, so does the Summoned beast.
F-class is the lowest rank, which is currently Mog’s rank.
“Fugil-niisan is D-class, Rashild-niisan is C-class, and Esterize-neesama got B-class certification at fifteen. . . . . .They’re considered the three brilliant siblings since the beginning of the Rushout family.”
ㅤ Albero chuckled.
ㅤ The fact that he wasn’t included there. His father and mother referred to their family as the 『Three Siblings』 when introducing them to other nobles, and Albero knew it.
ㅤ In other words, Albero was not acknowledged by the Rushout family.
ㅤ While stroking Mog, he looked up at the sky.
“Being a summoner. . . . . .Even if it’s a noble’s duty, I still have to attend the academy.”
One must enroll in the Asgard Summoning Academy from the age of fifteen.
It’s the duty of a summoner, a noble’s obligation. Since birth, the enrollment procedures have been completed. Regardless of how his father introduces him with only three siblings, Albero has to attend the academy.
“Well, it’s okay. I’ll just graduate quickly, get expelled from the Rushout family, and become a farmer.”
At twelve, Albero already had such a cynical mindset.
Rather than lamenting that his family didn’t recognize him, he decided to carve his own path and develop his strength.
『Mog. . . . . .』
“Mog, bear with me for a few more years. Eventually, I’ll take you to a place with delicious soil and let you eat plenty of tasty worms.”
『Mog!』
Saying this, Albero caressed Mog.
Suddenly, a girl appeared in this usually deserted place.
“Found you.”
“A, Ashe. . . . . .”
It was his childhood friend, Ashe.
With her long emerald-green hair and wide-open eyes, she was incredibly cute.
Out of nowhere, Ashe suddenly pulled Albero’s ear.
“Ow, ow, ow?!”
“Albero~! Why aren’t you joining the training?”
“Ouch, ouch! Let go! Let go!”
Ashe released Albero’s ear.
Holding his ear, Albero kept his distance from Ashe.
“Ugh, training. . . . . .I don’t need it. I’m just an F-class summoner. . . . . .I’m fine as I am.”
“That’s not right! Your brother and sister train every day, why don’t you?”
“I told you, I’m fine.”
ㅤ
Albero interrupted Ashe’s words.
“How many times have I told you? I’m a rank F, called a talentless summoner even by my family. No one says anything if I skip training, and lately, even my father and mother don’t care about me.”
Neither of Albero’s two brothers nor his one sister bother looking for him.
His elder brother Fugil will probably mock him later. The next elder brother, Rashild, will likely ignore him. And. . . . . .his eldest sister Esterize has been indifferent to Albero since forever. She looks at him like he’s not even worth acknowledging, as if he’s just some servant.
Albero says to Ashe,
“Ashe, don’t worry about me and go to your training. Aren’t you expected by the elder sister?”
“. . . . . .”
Ashe looked up at the sky.
There, a giant hawk 『Gryphon』 that’s over two meters in length was gracefully flying.
Ashe’s summoned beast is D-class. It will soon be promoted to C-class.
“Come on, go. . . . . .and thanks for coming to find me.”
“. . . . . .Albero.”
“Hey! The head butler’s daughter of the Rushout house! The rising star equal to the Rushout nobles!”
“D, Don’t say that! It’s embarrassing!”
“Ahahaha!”
Ashe stuck out her tongue at Albero and left.
Watching her go, Albero’s smile faded.
“Sigh. . . . . .”
『Mog. . . . . .』
A talentless summoner.
Saying it himself, Albero felt a bit sad.
