“What’s happening to Kiel?!”

Luke, who had inadvertently raised his voice, realized that there were people around and hurriedly took Tyra into the dragon carriage.

“Can you tell me in detail what happened to Kiel?”

“Kiel-neechan. . . she’s been caught.”

Tyra appeals with a crying voice.

“Caught? By the Rivasura clan, no doubt?”

“No, it’s not that.”

Tyra shakes her head.

“Kiel-neechan was caught by Errant-san.”

“By Errant-san? Why? Weren’t they on the same side? Can you explain in detail?”

“I don’t know, I don’t understand at all.”

Tyra shakes her head even more vigorously.

“Ever since Kiel-neechan returned to the island, she’s been arguing with Errant-san. Errant-san wanted to fight the demons, but Kiel-neechan opposed it, and then yesterday, Kiel-neechan was suddenly taken away by the villagers.”

“I can’t believe it’s come to this. . .”

It seems that the situation on Osten Island is reaching its limit, more than Luke had imagined.

“No one would help Kiel-neechan, so I didn’t know what to do. . . That’s when I thought of you, Luke-san. I know it’s a bother, but. . .”

Tyra looks down with tears in her eyes.

“It’s not a bother at all, I’m grateful that you came to me.”

Luke squats down in front of Tyra and puts his hand on her shoulder.

“I will definitely save Kiel, so don’t worry.”

“We will, right.”

Alma corrects him.

“If Kiel is in danger, we can’t just stand by and watch.”

“Alma, thank you. I feel reassured with you here.”

Luke nods and jumps out of the dragon carriage.

“Let’s go right away, if we leave now, we should be able to reach the island today.”

However, Tyra just hung her head in sadness.

“It’s no good. On the way here, we were attacked by the Rivasura guys and they took it. . . I swam here alone. So. . . there’s no boat.”

“What. . . then how do we get there. . .”

“Is there a problem?”

A voice sounded behind Luke, who was looking up at the sky in dismay.

“Sir Wilkinson?”

It was Omid.

He must have heard Luke’s voice and come over.

“Actually, a friend on Osten Island is in danger. Could you lend us a ship?”

“I see, I understand the situation.”

Omid nods heavily after hearing Luke’s explanation.

However, the words that followed betrayed Luke’s expectations.

“Unfortunately, I can’t do that.”

“Why?!”

“You should know, Luke. The current situation surrounding the southern territories. Especially Osten Island is in a delicate position. If your actions are interpreted as interference in domestic affairs, it could bring disadvantage to our country.”

“T, That is. . .”

Luke had no words to return.

 ㅤ

There might be some truth to what Omid says. . .

Even though Osten Island is a small island, it’s an independent land with its own autonomy.

Omid’s opinion that if Luke, a noble of the Kingdom of Arrogas, goes there, it could give the demons an excuse to interfere, was reasonable.

Still, Luke was convinced that he had to go.

His intuition told him that if he didn’t go, things would get much worse.

(I have to go, even if I have to borrow a fishing boat. . .)

“Just so you know, it’s useless to try to borrow a civilian boat. I’ve issued a notice not to lend you a boat.”

“What. . .”

Luke was at a loss for words.

“What are you thinking?! Why are you trying so hard to stop us from going to Osten Island?!”

“Why? I’ve told you many times. It’s because your actions could put this country at risk.”

“But the people of Osten Island are asking for help right now! Didn’t you say that Osten Island is an important trading partner for the Kingdom of Arrogas? Yet, it seems like you’re ready to abandon Osten Island!”

Luke’s tone became harsher towards the strangely stubborn Omid.

But Omid’s attitude didn’t change.

Rather, there was a hint of amusement in his expression.

“You can take it however you want. But after all, you guys are outsiders. I’d like you to leave the affairs of the southern territories to me.”

“Luke-san. . .”

Tyra looked up at Luke with a worried face.

“Can’t you at least let this child go home?”

“No matter what you say, it’s impossible. Even Tyra is technically an illegal immigrant. I don’t intend to do anything rough like detaining him, but I’ll keep him here for protection until the situation calms down.”

Omid answered with a smirk.

“Please think it’s impossible for you to set sail from here.”

“Damn. . .”

“What about leaving from my territory?”

When Luke gritted his teeth in frustration, a voice came from behind him.

“Lord Berlanji?!”

The person standing there was Barbassa Berlanji.
