Luke’s magic was making not only his boots but also his footprints on the ground glow yellow.

Runker’s footprints were glowing behind Luke and around the ancient water gate.

The traces of Runker’s hand left on the ancient water gate were also glowing as if to show off their existence.

“W, What is this?”

A commotion arose from the soldiers behind Clavi.

“Why are your footprints left even though you say you’ve never seen it? No, not just you, all of the  《Blue Sky Hawk》 .”

Along with Luke’s words, the footprints of the other three also began to glow.

The footprints continue to the back of the ancient water gate.

“Can you explain what this means?”

“This is nonsense! It’s your ridiculous trick! This can’t be evidence!”

Runker shouted, his face turning red.

“It might be true.”

Luke readily admitted.

“This is weak as evidence. Then how about this.”

When Luke snapped his fingers, the sword wound on the ancient water gate emitted a red light.

In response to that, Runker’s sword and Gustav’s war hammer also began to glow.

“W, What is this?”

“This water gate has a strong defense against magic, but its physical defense has fallen considerably over the 1000 years. It should have lasted a few hundred more years, but. . . you guys probably forcibly destroyed it, and your weapons should have been quite chipped.”

Luke pointed to the wound on the water gate.

“The fragments of your weapons are left in the part that is glowing. If you check, the components will match. This is evidence that you guys were here.”

“What?!”

Runker’s eyes widened as he held his sword.

“It seems you’ve shown your true colors.”

Miranda stepped forward.

“Let us take your weapons. If what Luke said is true, you guys won’t get away with it.”

“Don’t mess with me!”

Gustav, who was behind Runker, raised his voice and came forward.

“Why do we have to obey such a thing! After all, you’re the one who’s trespassing!”

“This is a legitimate investigation. And you guys have a duty to comply. If you resist, I’ll use force.”

Miranda drew her sword.

“Interesting, if you can do it, try it. But we won’t hold back either.”

Gustav laughed defiantly as he held his war hammer.

Normally, Gustav would obediently obey authority, but this time it was different.

They had overwhelmingly more troops, and Clavi was waiting behind them.

The only witnesses were the outsiders Luke and Alma, so they could probably make any excuse.

Gustav, who had been severely beaten by the two of them before, forgot about it and took a tough stance.

“That’s it.”

Luke stepped in between the two.

“This is not the time for this, please step back.”

“What?! You have nothing to do with this! Get out of here!”

“It’s not that simple.”

Luke continued, unfazed by Gustav’s intimidation.

“I don’t know why you destroyed the water gate, but did you ever think about what might be inside?”

“Huh? There was nothing inside. . .”

“Gustav!”

“Damn. . .”

It was too late when Runker reprimanded him.

“So it was your doing after all!”

“Damn it! You’ve plotted this! I’ll take you all down. . .”

Gustav, his face red with humiliation, raised his war hammer, and Miranda readied her sword to counter.

“No!”

The moment Luke grabbed Miranda and Alma and leapt sideways to escape, a black mass burst out from the depths of the water gate and wrapped around Gustav.

“Wha, what is this?! Ah. . .ahhhhhhh.”

Gustav’s body, wrapped in the black mass, screamed as it was covered in black bruises.

“Eeeek!”

“R, Runker. . .he, help me. . .”

Before the stunned Runker could comprehend what was happening, Gustav’s entire body turned black and eventually merged with the black entity.

“Eeeeeeeek!!!”

Runker screamed.

“Wha, what is that?!”

The black entity, having absorbed Gustav, slithered towards them with a sticky, viscous movement.

It was about three meters tall, shaking all over as it approached.

It was as if a mountain of filth had come to life.

“G, Gustav got swallowed up!”

“It’s coming this way.”

“Be careful!”

Panic and fear spread throughout the cave at the bizarre situation.

“Calm down, everyone! First, protect me!”

Clavi shouted desperately, but his words fell on deaf ears among the confused soldiers.

“What is that thing?”

Alma and Miranda could only watch the unnerving creature with pale faces.

“Could it be that the ancient water gate was sealing that demon beast?”

“That’s not exactly correct.”

Luke answered Miranda’s trembling voice.

“That is a semi-magical creature, an intermediate existence between magical elements and magical creatures, born from the accumulation of magical elements in this mountain.”
