“”Blade-sama!””

“You guys. . . . . .”

“Ah, you’re already here. That was quick.”

Seeing us barge in, Rest nonchalantly snapped his fingers.

He seemed surprisingly composed, despite being in the middle of a fight with Blade.

At his signal, the mind-controlled soldiers in the barracks moved to block our path.

“I’m having a conversation with my brother right now. It’s a family matter, so please don’t interrupt.”

“Hmph!”

What’s going on with this family all of a sudden!

This is nothing, not even a sibling quarrel!

Blade’s wounds, while not fatal, are quite deep.

If this battle continues as it is, there’s a significant risk of death due to the extent of the damage.

This is a genuine fight to the death.

The rest are truly trying to kill Blade.

I want to ask what he thinks he’s doing.

Yes, I suspect he’s being manipulated by demons, but unlike the others, he still seems to possess some degree of self-awareness, which I don’t understand.

. . . . . .Well, it doesn’t matter right now.

The task at hand is to knock some sense into everyone here with this wooden sword.

“Move!”

“””Raaaaaah!”””

With that determination, I charged into the group of soldiers being controlled with Doug-san.

The enemy soldiers are numerous.

Well, that’s to be expected.

The defending forces near the frontlines couldn’t possibly have depleted to the extent of the numbers we just defeated along the way.

The number of soldiers remaining here is around several hundred.

From what I can see, most of them have been imbued with demonic power, just like the ones we encountered earlier.

Normally, the odds would be hopeless.

Even a hero with divine protection would likely be overwhelmed by these numbers.

But I have no intention of losing.

“””Raaaaaah!”””

“Hmph!”

I dodge and parry the attacks from the soldiers who swarm us from all directions.

I mix in feints, adjust my positioning, and somewhat guide their methods and timing of attack.

Then I deflect their numerous blows with my twin wooden swords, dodging the attacks I can’t deal with.

And then. . . . . .

“””Huh?!”””

The attacks didn’t land on me, and instead, the soldiers who were supposed to attack let out voices of agony.

The sword swung at me from the front was deflected and pierced into the shoulder of the guy beside me.

The spear thrust from behind was evaded and pierced through the abdomen of the guy in front.

This is also the essence of my swordsmanship.

It’s one of the ways to use the opponent’s strength in battle.

I guide attacks to be released at the intended position and timing, bend the trajectory of the attacks, and redirect the enemy’s force towards other foes.

I used this tactic when facing the heroes during the departure ceremony of the Hero.

It’s one of the forms of the Ultimate Killing Sword, designed for fighting multiple enemies simultaneously.

Originally, for me, who was used to dealing with a large number of enemies at once in activities like labyrinth conquest or breaking through demon-controlled territories, handling multiple opponents was my specialty.

In some cases, it’s even easier than one-on-one combat.

In a one-on-one fight, the only power you can use is that of the opponent right in front of you.

But in a multi-opponent situation, I can utilize all the attacks coming towards me.

If the coordination is lacking, it’s also easier to find openings to break through.

In other words,

“Don’t think you can stop me with mere numbers!”

I carve my way through the wave of soldiers.

Doug-san also expands the gap I’ve made, methodically disabling soldiers one by one.

In this manner, we charge straight towards Rest.

“I know. Mere pawns won’t be enough to stop you.”

“Huh?!”

The moment Rest spoke, a water bullet flew at an incredible speed, weaving through the crowd of surrounding soldiers.

Thanks to my instincts sensing the danger and taking evasive action just in time, I wasn’t hit, but this attack was a threat on an entirely different level compared to others.

After all, it was as fast as an attack from 『Sword Saint』 Shizuka’s fallen form, the Sword Saint Skeleton, and 『Fist Hero』 Fisto, who possessed divine protection and was among the top heroes.

This was definitely not an attack that could be launched by a low-level demon.

This naturally narrows down who could have launched this attack.

Looking in the direction the attack came from, I see a middle-aged man in the guise of a wizard, holding a short staff.

“Ugh. . . . . .Ah. . . . . .”

Unlike the other soldiers who were howling like beasts, this man was groaning in agony.

Even so, the power I felt from him was greater than Doug-san’s.

He’s undoubtedly one of the three heroes with divine protection who have been protecting this town, just like Doug-san.

Given that he used water magic, he’s likely a wizard with the divine protection of water.

And judging by his short staff, he specializes in quick-casting magic.

“ROOOOOOOOAR!”

Furthermore, another incomparable force attacks, following the middle-aged wizard.

She was a woman in her thirties, armed with a huge double-edged axe and toned muscles.

She likely possesses the divine protection of the axe.

This axe-wielding woman leapt into the air and swung her axe at me, using the momentum of her fall.

I deflected the attack using distortion technique, but the axe still struck the ground, causing an enormous shockwave and cloud of dust.

“Tch!”

“What the?!”

As the soldiers around me, including myself and Doug-san, were blown away by the shockwave, we were forced to retreat.

I went with the flow of the shockwave, taking a defensive stance, while Doug-san, with his divine protection, endured without any damage.

In fact, the soldiers who had gathered were the ones who suffered the most damage from the recent strike, depleting their forces.

Perhaps it was fortunate that we were endowed with the power and regenerative abilities akin to the lowest-ranked demons. From what I can see, not a single one of our side has died, which works out well for us.

However, this advantage fades in light of the fact that these two have joined the fray.

Whether they can still cooperate intelligently is unknown, but they’re heroes augmented by demonic power and possessing divine protection.

It would be troublesome if the remaining soldiers joined these two in their attack.

At the very least, we’ll be held back.

If we show any openings in this situation. . . . . .

“No one will interfere now. Let’s continue, Brother.”

“What?!”

Damn it!

Rest resumed his attack on Blade.

With physical abilities surpassing even a Holy Warrior, Rest began to corner the injured Blade.

Whether it’s the pride of a Sword Saint or as a brother, Blade doesn’t look like he’ll go down easily, but if this continues, he’ll certainly lose and be killed.

While Rest’s movements have improved due to his increased physical abilities, Blade’s seem oddly sluggish.

Even accounting for his injuries, he doesn’t seem focused.

I want to help him, but to do that, I have to get past the enemies in front of me.

It’s unlikely I’ll have the chance to help Blade until I’ve defeated these foes.

I must end this quickly.

Hang in there, Blade!
