Chapter 35: I never expected to see you here
“Aliseteen-ojosama!”
“Is this real? I can’t believe it… Oh my god!”
With teary eyes, I pounced on the person in front of me. She held me tightly, her cheeks also wet with tears.
I never thought I would be able to see her again.
“Lili… I wanted to see you so badly…”
As I pressed my cheek against her chest, she squirmed slightly, ticklish. Enveloped in her warm embrace and gentle scent, I closed my eyes blissfully.
“I’m also very happy to see Ojo-sama again.”
“I’m sorry, Lili. I didn’t want to fire you.”
“Please don’t apologize. I understand the circumstances.”
Lili hadn’t changed a bit in two years. She was still soft and plump with the same kind and gentle gaze.
“But Lili, why are you at Julian-sama’s mansion?”
As I looked up at her while still hugging, Lili let out a soft laugh.
“It’s Prince Julian-sama’s doing.”
“Julian-sama’s?”
“I received a message that Ojo-sama wants to see me.”
Could it really be true?
I looked at him with a shocked expression, but he seemed completely unfazed. Seeing his carefree face almost breaking into song, I frowned deeply.
“Prince Julian is really kind. He went out of his way to find me and even offered to hire me as a maid for Ojo-sama’s sake.”
“That’s a lie.”
“It’s not a lie, Ojo-sama.”
But he had treated me so terribly before. I couldn’t believe he would do something like this for me right after returning home.
“Julian-sama, is what Lili saying true?”
I moved away from Lili and approached Julian-sama.
“It’s true. If you hired her here, you could see her whenever you wanted.”
“Why? Didn’t you say before that you couldn’t find any value in me?”
“I already apologized for that, didn’t I?”
Do you think a simple apology will make things right?! What a selfish person.
Before he went to study abroad, he was happy with my words, but when he came back, he was disappointed. Julian-sama is truly a strange person.
However, no matter how much I thank him, it won’t be enough for what he did this time.
“Julian-sama.”
I ran over to him and gently touched his smooth fingertips.
“I’m really happy. Thank you, Julian-sama.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I smiled from the bottom of my heart. Whatever Julian-sama’s intentions may be, the fact that I was able to see Lili again thanks to him is undeniable.
Lili, who raised and loved me. We couldn’t even say goodbye because of her sudden dismissal.
But from now on, we can meet anytime again. Because Julian-sama will hire Lili here…
“Oh.”
My emotions were fleeting, and I unconsciously blurted out. Come to think of it, I came here for a discussion about breaking off the engagement.
Despite finally reuniting with Lili, I couldn’t come here anymore if I wasn’t his fiancé anymore.
“Oh, that Julian-sama…”
“Don’t worry, I have no intention of ending our engagement.”
“Is that so.”
I was clearly relieved, but upon further reflection, ending the engagement might have been better. However, in order to see Lili, my connection with Julian-sama was essential.
Besides, right now, I can’t think of anything else other than the happiness of seeing Lili again. For now, it seems that maintaining the current situation is the only option.
“You’re still the Aliseteen I remembered.”
I decided not to dwell too deeply on what he meant by those words, accompanied by a faint smile.
