Owner of Twilight Intuition – Chapter 160

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟔𝟎

“Oh? It’s the Vice Guild Master.”

“His items must be good, right?”

“Didn’t you see him during the guild quest? He swept them all up alone. In my opinion, he seems stronger than the Guild Master, so his items must be good.”

“Sigh, I’m envious. Should I go and ask to rent some?”

“If you want to get kicked out of the guild you just joined, go ahead.”

‘……I can’t believe they’d release such a patch.’

Ignoring the guild members whispering and looking at the items I was wearing, I moved on. The reason they were interested in my items was because of the patch released today.

[Rental System Added.]

[Details: A system has been added that allows you to rent out your equipment to others. The rental method is the same as the existing trade, and the command is ‘Rental Item Trade’. You also need to set a rental time for the item, which can be a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 100 hours.

Also, rented equipment cannot be enhanced, traded, or destroyed, and if you die while renting equipment, all rented equipment will be returned to the original owner regardless of the remaining rental time. Also, please note that the durability of the equipment is reduced by half, so please be careful when using it.]

Thinking about it, I couldn’t understand why they made this patch.

Did someone run away after borrowing an item?

Anyway, some people were happy, saying they could now make money by renting out equipment. Perhaps the guild members I just spoke with were also thinking of renting my equipment in that way.

‘But do I have any equipment to rent out?’

I can’t rent out the items I’m wearing because I need to use them. So, if I were to rent anything out, it would have to be the items I recently acquired by defeating the raid boss.

However, revealing those items would be tantamount to confessing that I defeated the raid boss, so that was also impossible.

‘I guess I’ll have to pretend the rental system doesn’t exist.’

On the other hand, there was a patch I thought was good. It was a patch that allowed you to open the Twilight homepage within the game. Remembering that patch, I opened the Twilight homepage window to check it out.

‘First, today’s patch is……’

[You can now access the homepage within Twilight.]

[Details: We received reports that many people were logging out specifically to read posts on the homepage. To prevent this inconvenience in the future, we have implemented access to the homepage within Twilight.

However, due to some issues, you can only access the Twilight homepage, and you cannot post within Twilight. Please use it only for viewing purposes.]

Indeed, Sina had logged out before to look things up. Thinking about that, this patch was really useful, and since I don’t post on the homepage anyway, the drawbacks didn’t bother me.

[From now on, the description in Skill. Detailed Information will be displayed correctly.]

[Details: Until now, even if you wore items with magic power or stamina consumption reduction, the values were not displayed. In response to reports that many people experienced inconvenience due to this, the Detailed Information window now displays all values applied.]

Simply put, this means that the effects of my Azure Guardian Set, magic power and stamina reduction, are now applied and displayed in the Detailed Information window. This isn’t a bad patch either, is it? For example, Thunder Strike is now displayed as follows:

[S-Rank Volcus’ Thunder Strike Effect] (LV4+2)

━Strength increased by 200.

━Attack speed increased by 200.

━Applies Strength and Defense as damage.

━Second hit deals 15% increased damage.

━Third hit deals 30% increased damage.

━Third hit knocks back enemies with lower Strength than the user.

━1-second stun on successful completion of all hits.

━Can only be used while wearing a shield.

*Consumes 630 Magic Power upon use.

*Consumes 5.9% Stamina upon use.

Like this.

With the Azure Guardian Set effect, both magic power and stamina are reduced by 30%, and with the enhancement option, stamina is reduced by another 2%. Finally, with Jayer’s Defense Domination added, it’s reduced to a total of 5.9%, which is definitely convenient to see at a glance.

And the last patch was related to Return Scrolls.

[Return Scrolls cannot be used during combat.]

[Details: Originally, Return Scrolls could be used if there was even a brief moment to catch your breath. However, due to balance issues, we have boldly revised this part so that Return Scrolls can only be used after 5 minutes have passed without being in combat.

However, when a logout message appears or when extending the game time, it has been applied as 1 minute instead of 5 minutes for safer logout. We will continue to adjust this as we monitor the situation.]

In short, it means I can’t use a Return Scroll for 5 minutes if I’m being attacked. I don’t care about this kind of thing, but it seems others use Return Scrolls to escape.

Anyway……

‘I’ve arrived.’

The place I arrived at was a building where I could use the teleportation device. The reason I came here was because I had business with the Yonggammusang Guild operating in the Karzen Kingdom.

‘First, I need to find where the Yonggammusang Guild operates.’

Once I find them, I plan to contact Aizen and wipe them out as soon as I declare hostility. I thought I needed to make an example of them to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future, so I didn’t hesitate.

How dare they demand compensation from me.

Just as they demanded 1,000 gold, I had no intention of backing down until I had inflicted at least 1,000 gold worth of damage.

‘And I’m also curious about the S-Rank skill he acquired.’

It’s just my guess, but I think he might have acquired an S-Rank skill that even gives a title. Otherwise, there would be no reason for him to demand compensation.

Also, the skill level is likely quite high. Perhaps he raised it to the point where he was confident enough to take on Heights? Even if it wasn’t certain, I thought there must be something like that, so I paid 10 gold and headed to the Karzen Kingdom.

Pabat!-

‘I’ve arrived in the Karzen Kingdom, but……’

As expected, it seemed like it would be a struggle to find the Yonggammusang Guild. As I am now, I don’t even know where they are. On the other hand, I considered going back to the Forest that Swallows Life, but I wondered if they would still be guarding it now that Heights is gone.

Anyway, I couldn’t just stand around forever, so I was about to start walking when I heard a word that caught my attention.

“Did you hear the news? I heard the Yonggammusang Guild is in an uproar.”

“Of course, they lost Heights. But in this situation, wouldn’t Bulgeun Taeyang be preparing something?”

“Prepare what? At best, they’ll just send another message to their allied guilds. If the allied guilds help, it’s a different story, but since the Yonggammusang Guild didn’t suffer any real damage, they’ll likely ignore it.”

“I guess so. Ah~ I wish the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild would make a comeback.”

“Why? Because the Yonggammusang Guild is occupying the fields?”

“Of course. They’re occupying the Forest that Swallows Life and other fields as well. Besides, the only guild willing to fight the Yonggammusang Guild is Bulgeun Taeyang. So, I hope Bulgeun Taeyang will revive and push back the Yonggammusang Guild.”

“Yeah, if they revive, that might happen.”

‘The Bulgeun Taeyang Guild……’

Suddenly, I remembered that the person who asked for my help before was a member of the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild, and I thought about it for a moment. Coincidentally, my goal and Bulgeun Taeyang’s goal are the same now, so joining forces might not be a bad idea.

‘To do that, I need to find the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild, right?’

I wonder if they’re still at their hideout?

However, since I didn’t know the location of the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild’s hideout, I needed to ask someone. But I had a feeling that asking those guys would spread the word quickly, so I looked for a relatively quiet player who was wandering around alone and spoke to them.

“Excuse me, do you know where the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild’s hideout is?”

“Huh? I think it’s the three-story mansion over there…… Why do you ask?”

“I know someone there. Thank you.”

Having easily found out the location, I headed there, and upon arriving at the three-story mansion, I noticed that, surprisingly, there were no players guarding it.

I thought the Yonggammusang Guild would have people stationed there.

‘Well, they must have withdrawn.’

Reaching that conclusion without difficulty, I knocked on the mansion door, but there was no response.

“……Could they have quit the game?”

If they had quit Twilight, it would explain why there were no Yonggammusang Guild members nearby, but strangely, it didn’t feel real. Was it because they had been holding on so stubbornly until now? Anyway, if the Bulgeun Taeyang Guild wasn’t there, I had no business there either, so I turned to leave, only to see several players blocking my way.

“Hey, what business do you have here?”

“Yonggammusang Guild?”

“So what if we are? Just answer the question.”

And judging by their reaction, they seem to have been hiding and watching.

‘But only five people?’

It would have been nice if at least 30 people had shown up.

This number of people isn’t even enough for a warm-up. Still, I didn’t like the idea of backing down, so instead of answering, I drew my weapon. Seeing that, they sneered as if they found it ridiculous.

“Ha, looks like you’re thinking of fighting?”

“I’ll make sure you never log in again.”

“Elsyke’s Phantom Shift.”

Pat!-

Before they could even attack, I used Phantom Shift to dive into the center of them and slammed the ground with the Roar of the Thunder Dragon I had just drawn. Even in a straight fight, I wouldn’t lose, but I didn’t want to waste time. And the fastest way to end this was to use the Roar of the Thunder Dragon.

[All Magic Power will be consumed.]

KuoOoooooh!!-

A storm of lightning raged in all directions. I could confidently say that no player could withstand this attack.

“Kuaack!”

[Skill Damage! 10,776.]

[Skill Damage……]

As expected, the five Yonggammusang Guild members disappeared without any resistance, turning gray and fading away. And then, an additional message appeared before me.

[You have attacked a player.]

[The Self-Defense System will be applied to the opposing player.]

[Combat experience……]

[Ding!~ 1 Gold 56 Silver……]

[Warning! You have been designated as a wanted criminal for killing a player. If a pursuer kills you, the death penalty will be even harsher, so be careful.]

“This pops up too, huh.”

I tilted my head. It was a message I had never seen before. Come to think of it, I had always killed players using the Self-Defense System until now; I had never been the one to initiate the attack.

‘But it seems there’s no murderer mark or anything like that.’

In online games, there’s usually a change like the ID turning red when you kill someone, but it seems there’s no such thing here. No wonder there are so many people clamoring to kill me. I understood the reason and was about to move to another location, but before I could, I heard a sound.

Click-

“……?”

What was that? I turned around at the sound of a door opening and saw someone peeking out from the mansion I thought was empty, slightly opening the door.

“Who are you?”

“Rudin.”

“Rudin? Rudin of the Emperor Guild?”

I nodded to confirm, and the player hesitated with a troubled expression before opening the door a little wider and speaking to me.

“Come in.”

‘Should I go in?’

They pretended to be absent at first, but then opened the door as soon as I killed the Yonggammusang Guild members, which didn’t leave a good impression. But I thought there must be a reason, so I walked towards the open door and entered. The player quickly closed the door as soon as I was inside.

“Was it necessary to close the door so hastily?”

“We need to give the impression that we’ve quit the game. Originally, we weren’t supposed to open the door, but……”

‘Were you waiting for the Yonggammusang Guild’s surveillance to disappear?’

Despite that, they opened the door, so they must have made some kind of decision after seeing me. The problem is those guys I killed. If they saw the scene of the door opening while in soul state, it could become a problem later, but they must have considered that as well.

“It’s possible the Yonggammusang Guild might have seen you.”

“But we caught Rudin-nim instead.”

“Well……”

Did they think it was more beneficial to catch me than to wait?

“Anyway, you came here to talk, right?”

“That’s right, for now.”

“Then follow me. I’ll guide you.”
