“……Finally, it’s over.”
The long and arduous battle with the rare box.
Having grasped victory at the end of that difficult fight, I closed my eyes, feeling the rising sense of accomplishment. And then, after enjoying the lingering feeling for a while, I opened my eyes again and double-checked the message that had popped up a little while ago.
[Ding!~ You have acquired ‘Soaring Silver Flash’.]
“It really didn’t come out easily.”
Two days. No, if you include Monday, is it the third day?
The three days of work I put into the rare box at the Guild Castle finally bore fruit. Of course, since I was doing a quest once a day, I currently have 34 gold in my possession.
By the way, I didn’t know it would be this hard to get just one weapon.
“It was a time of patience.”
Ah, instead of doing this, should I check it out first?
Even though it’s not an item I’ll be using, I was curious about the performance of a rare-grade throwing spear.
[Soaring Silver Flash] (Rare)
Description: A throwing spear whose value is revealed when it cuts through the air. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it was made solely for throwing. Upon throwing, various special magic attached to the spear activates, having the effect of increasing the throwing power by several levels.
Attack Power: 200 Magic Attack Power: 50
Durability: 50/50
*Increases all effects of Throwing Skill by 170%.
*Accuracy Assistance Effect.
“Ho.”
The attack power is low. But excluding that, it was a pretty decent weapon. This is because it increases all effects of the skill and even has an accuracy assistance effect.
You can simply think of it as hitting the target even if you throw it roughly.
If you throw it more carefully, it’s an effect that allows you to hit the desired part of the target.
‘Yes, it has to be at least this good to be considered repaying the debt.’
I thought giving Yua the throwing spear and Sina the Alchemy Crafting Kit would be a sufficient reward for the Azure Guardian, and I pondered how to handle the remaining rare box.
“Is it just accessories again?”
If I were to get accessories, what should I get first?
‘No, there’s no need to get them right now.’
The rare box isn’t going anywhere, so there’s no need to rush. To be more precise, after using Intuition on the box for several days, I wanted to try doing something else that didn’t require using Intuition.
‘The problem is that crafting also requires Intuition……’
Ah…… I really hate it.
While thinking about things I could do without using Intuition, I managed to recall one thing that fit the criteria.
“……Raid Boss.”
Right, I decided to try hunting a Raid Boss once I enhanced the Azure Guardian set to +10.
Also, wouldn’t I be able to fight and win even alone now?
I was confident even when the Azure Guardian wasn’t enhanced. And now, having enhanced it to +10, it goes without saying. Therefore, without hesitation, I thought about the Raid Boss I would face, but only one came to mind immediately.
“Was it Beksha?”
Since it’s been a while, the name is a bit hazy.
Anyway, the bear I met at the end while helping Sina with her quest. I recalled that guy and decided to give it a try.
“Anyway, shall we go?”
[Using Return Scroll.]
Whoosh!━
After returning home using the Return Scroll, I looked around the quiet space devoid of people and soon placed the throwing spear and the Alchemy Crafting Kit on the table before heading out.
Of course, if I just leave it on the table, no one might take it. None of the people who come to my mansion would take things without permission. So, thinking it would be better to tell them in advance, I immediately contacted Yua.
━Yes, Rudin-nim. What’s the matter?
“I got some decent items from the rare box. But they’re items I can’t use, so I’d like to give them to Yua-nim and Sina-nim.”
At my answer, Yua refused, saying there was no need for that, but I managed to convince her by explaining that they were items I couldn’t use and that I wanted Yua and Sina to use them.
By the way, to think I have to persuade someone even when giving them rare items.
Anyway, as soon as that conversation ended, I moved to the location of the Teleportation Device and teleported to the nearest village to where Beksha appears.
‘It’s still quite far.’
Hmm, should I take a carriage?
Since I’ve been there before, I could take a carriage. Otherwise, I could run. My current Agility is over 600, and with the Azure Guardian Shoes’ option ‘Movement speed increases by Water Resistance’, I can run with over 900 Agility.
‘Yeah, it wouldn’t be bad to check it out at this opportunity.’
What would it feel like to run with 900 Agility? Thinking that far, I tried running at full speed as a test, and soon I was able to run at a speed that would be difficult for anyone to catch up to.
“Oh!”
Was I this fast?
The surrounding scenery passes by in an instant. The blowing wind doesn’t even reach me, blocked by the armor. Just like that, I arrived at the thorny vines in just 30 minutes and replenished my depleted Stamina.
“Hoo, finally, I can fight.”
As expected, if there are no unexpected difficulties, I should be able to win.
Well, if it doesn’t work out, I can just leave a phantom and run away. Thinking that, I finished replenishing my Stamina and then climbed onto the thorny vines, landing in the large open space where Beksha appears.
“First, title change.”
I couldn’t leisurely summon while waiting for Beksha to appear, so I decided to prepare in advance. I changed my title using the Soul Contract and summoned Ust, then switched back to Guardian of Light and equipped it.
[Summoning Ust, Devouring Life.]
“……This guy has changed like this.”
Looking at the summoned Ust, there weren’t any major changes. However, in the past, he used to swing thin branches like arms, but the arms of the currently summoned Ust were thick and long, like the legs of a Kraken.
If it even had suckers, I might have mistaken them for attached Kraken legs.
“More importantly, are the preparations complete?”
Honestly, there weren’t any real preparations. But thinking I had done everything I could, I turned my head again and watched the spot where Beksha would appear.
Come on, whenever you’re ready.
[Ding!~ ‘Beksha, the Symbol of Fear’ has smelled an intruder.]
[Warning! Beksha has just awakened from its slumber. You can still escape now, but as time passes, even that may become impossible.]
‘As expected, it appears even without accepting the quest.’
The message told me to run away now, but I had no intention of doing so. I just stood in place with Ust, waiting for Beksha to appear, and before long, another message appeared.
[Beksha fully awakens from its slumber.]
[Battle with the Raid Boss Monster, Beksha, the Symbol of Fear, begins.]
Kwaaaang!━
‘It’s here.’
Beksha jumped down from the tree opposite me. A tremendous roar, befitting its massive size, echoed throughout the surroundings. Previously, I hadn’t even considered facing it properly and just focused on dodging, but this time was different.
“Ust. Just shoot tree roots and Dark Ray. I’ll handle it.”
But did he understand?
Looking at Ust with that thought, he thankfully nodded. As expected, he seems to have high intelligence. In fact, most Raid Bosses seem to have high stats, so it wouldn’t be strange for him to have high intelligence.
“Krrr……”
“Armor of Protection.”
Clang━
Armor of Protection, which can only be used when all parts of the Azure Guardian set are equipped.
I didn’t use it against the Kraken except for the final seal because there wasn’t much of a crisis, but the situation was different now since I had to engage in a head-on confrontation. And Armor of Protection was a tremendous skill, enough to make me take such actions.
[A-Rank Armor of Protection Effect] (LV25)
━Creates a shield with a value equal to half of your maximum HP.
━Shield’s Physical & Magical Defense: 625.
━Shield Regeneration Speed: 125 per second.
━Duration: 185 seconds.
*Cooldown: 120 minutes.
Creates a shield equal to half of my maximum HP.
My current HP is 23,895, so it means a shield with a durability of at least 10,000 is created. This skill is practically an extra life.
As I used Armor of Protection, a refreshing sound rang out, and a transparent glass-like layer covered the outer surface of my armor. Is this Armor of Protection? And while I was using Armor of Protection, Beksha also roared loudly towards me.
Kooaaarooong!!━
[Beksha, the Symbol of Fear, uses Predator’s Threat.]
[Overwhelming level. Resistance is futile.]
[All stats decreased by 30%.]
‘It seems even the Fighting Spirit stat can’t do anything about this.’
Well, it didn’t matter. I had already summoned Ust.
Crack!━
Simultaneously, as if to counter Beksha, Ust also summoned tree roots. After confirming that, I immediately rushed forward to face Beksha. Despite my lowered Agility, my running speed was faster than ever.
“Kooong!”
In an instant, Beksha raised its massive front paw in a posture to attack me. It was obvious that it was an attack, but……
‘Let’s try blocking it first.’
Deciding to figure out the damage first, I raised my shield instead of dodging.
Kwaaaang!━
“Ugh.”
Even with my Strength over 1,000, I couldn’t withstand it and was thrown backward. This also meant that Beksha’s Strength was overwhelmingly higher than mine.
[Armor of Protection takes the impact instead. -2,871.]
‘As expected, the damage is significant.’
Even with Armor of Protection’s regeneration speed of 125 per second, if it receives this much damage, it will eventually break. Even if it holds up well, 5-6 hits would probably be the limit.
However.
“Kooong!”
“It won’t work twice!”
My eyes couldn’t keep up with Beksha’s attack. On the other hand, my body was faster than Beksha’s. Using that, I rushed forward, dodged its attack, and swung Roar of the Thunder Dragon.
Crackle!━
[Hit Damage! 1,676.]
‘Alright.’
I see a possibility of winning.
Perhaps it’s only natural.
My equipment is so splendid that words can’t describe it. A Unique weapon enhanced to +10 and a Rare set armor. With this level of equipment, I should be able to face not just Beksha, but even Beksha’s grandfather.
Kuwawwak!!━
‘Dark Ray?’
While briefly immersed in the expectation of being able to catch it, a black light flew from behind and engulfed Beksha. Perhaps due to its massive size, the Dark Ray easily hit its target. I checked the damage of Ust’s Dark Ray.
[Summon Skill Damage! 5,117.]
‘5,000? Lower damage than the demon before.’
Is this truly a Raid Boss? Of course, even including that, the damage of Dark Ray is decent. However, since Beksha is a Raid Boss Monster, it has significantly more HP than a regular boss, which bothered me.
[Beksha, the Symbol of Fear, uses Ground Smash.]
“Ground Smash?”
If I remember correctly, isn’t this a low-damage skill?
Anyway, Beksha stood up on its two feet, raised one of its front paws, and then slammed it down towards the ground.
Kwaaaang!!━
[Armor of Protection takes the impact instead. -500.]
‘This is nothing.’
However, along with the ground shaking from the impact, I felt my body temporarily stiffen. It seemed to be a skill similar to my Earth’s Dynamics. Still, the duration was short, so I quickly recovered and saw Beksha fiercely charging towards me.
Alright, you try it too.
“Dynamics!”
Kwaaaang!━
[Skill Damage! 1,483.]
‘As expected, normal attacks are more effective than skills right now.’
My attack power has already surpassed 3,000, so even a simple swing deals damage comparable to most skills. However, I didn’t know how long it would take to defeat Beksha even with this damage, so I dodged Beksha, who had momentarily stopped moving, and retreated backward. Soon, I was able to avoid Beksha’s attack as its movement resumed.
“Kikiik!”
‘Even the Trees of Death have been created?’
Glancing over, I saw the Trees of Death running towards Beksha, and Ust was summoning tree roots again, preparing to shoot Dark Ray.
Despite everything, Ust was faithfully following my instructions.
‘If I just hold out here, I think I can catch it……’
I have a way to recover Stamina, so it wouldn’t be difficult.
If necessary, I can just keep hitting it with the Shield Bash skill.
Moreover, my current Stamina consumption is only around 5%. I don’t know what will happen later, but for now, I have plenty of leeway.
[Beksha, the Symbol of Fear, uses Consecutive Ground Smash.]
“……?”
Consecutive Ground Smash?
‘What’s that?’
As if to answer my question, Beksha suddenly started pounding the ground like crazy.
Kwang! Kwang! Kwang! Kwaaaang!━
[Armor of Protection takes the impact instead. -500.]
[Armor of Protection takes the impact……]
‘Crazy, just how many hits!’
Once caught, it’s difficult to even move. After taking a total of 3,000 damage, I looked at the Trees of Death just in case, and I saw that they had all died before they could even reach Beksha.
The effect is similar to my Earth’s Dynamics, but the range is on a different level.
‘As expected, a raid is a raid?’
Every skill it uses is impressive.
Thankfully, my HP wasn’t affected at all thanks to Armor of Protection, but the fact that one of Ust’s attacks was blocked was significant.
‘Should I just seal this guy?’
If I seal Beksha and then summon it to fight later, wouldn’t I be able to defeat it? However, if I do that, I would have to give up on Ust.
‘It’s a bit of a shame to seal a creature like this……’
While thinking that, Beksha took a new action that I hadn’t seen before.
[Beksha, the Symbol of Fear, uses Predator’s Frenzy.]
