Limited Time, Kitchen Maid of the Fourth Knight Order ~I Got a Job Because I Don’t Want to Get Married~ – Chapter 59

When I woke up after a good night’s sleep, it was the usual time I would be awake when in the Fourth Knight Order. The warm sunlight leaking through the deep navy curtains felt good.

Stretching out, I felt my spine make a popping sound.

I decided not to worry about the fact that the curtains were navy, albeit a dark shade of blue.

After all, Alois has royal blood in him. Yes, even Arthur has royal lineage if you trace it back, so it’s not strange. Having dark curtains means the morning sun won’t disturb my sleep.

“This room feels like it was intended for Roa-sama.”

Since I arrived, Roa-sama has been sleeping in a room for aides. I’ve heard it’s still fairly luxurious and private, but probably not as spacious as this one.

I decided to ignore the fact that royal blue is boldly used in the room that was likely intended for Roa-sama to sleep in, and hurriedly went to wash my face.

It’s not good to make assumptions about the true identity Roa-sama is hiding.

“Excuse me.”

I announced my entry to the bathroom, locked the door, washed my face, tied up my hair, and applied light makeup.

Today’s day dress was off-white. It had a glossy fabric with three-quarter sleeves, covered by a layer of the same colored sheer material. It was finely embroidered, both cute and elegant.

When I quietly opened the door, Chris was there.

“Good morning. You’re up early. Did you sleep well, Chris?”

“Ojou-sama, good morning. Don’t worry about me. Would you like some breakfast?”

“Yes, please.”

I sat down on the sofa, and Chris first brewed some warm black tea for me.

“Milk and sugar?”

“A lot of milk, and two sugars.”

“Understood.”

The milk that would go well with this black tea and the butterfly-shaped sugar cubes melted in. While I was sipping the tea that Chris had quietly stirred for me, breakfast was served.

Freshly baked croissants, onion gratin soup full of cheese, and an omelette topped with a generous amount of mushrooms and demi-glace sauce. Butter and several types of jam were also provided on the side.

“We also have some meat prepared.”

“No, this is enough.”

Probably, this is for Roa-sama and others. Rene, who is still growing, could even eat fried chicken from the morning.

“Then, let’s begin the lesson.”

Chris smiled warmly.

“Huh?”

“School starts in the afternoon, so the only time Ojou-sama will be eating or drinking will likely be during tea time. While you’ll be the one doing the drinking, everything else will be done by the attendant. Like adding milk to the tea earlier, or putting jam on. That’s the attendant’s job.”

T, This is. . . meal training!

“Ojou-sama, I’ve heard that due to your occupation as a kitchen maid, you perform tasks similar to those of an attendant. We’ll teach you what not to do while you’re eating.”

Chris smiled again.

“The only thing you’ll need special training in regarding meals will be the series of movements involved in drinking tea.”

Maybe, just maybe, I can handle this. Trying to cram in dining etiquette might just give me away.

“What I would like for you, Ojou-sama, to be conscious of is to not take actions yourself. Most of the actions you are currently taking should be done by your attendant. It’s only natural that you are respected and served. These things will naturally emanate from you. To help you remember this, I will be the one to take actions from now on. Please carry the mindset that it’s only natural to have everything done for you.”

“. . . . . .Yes.”

The sense of activity from my past life still hasn’t faded; whether at home or with the Fourth Knight Order, I was always on the move. I find it hard to believe that I can adapt to this new behavior so quickly.

But, I have no choice but to do it.

“Although it might call the school’s dignity into question, it has become trendy to have multiple attendants of the opposite sex and have them take care of you. Even during meals, some have their attendants feed them. Of course, only those lacking in class do such things. However, the lady you are to fully become has been set up to appear as if such behaviors are not out of character.”

“. . . . . .Understood. I will do my best!”

My embarrassment is secondary! The most important thing is not to reveal my true identity!

“As I mentioned earlier, the only time you should eat or drink is during tea time. If necessary, you can simply opt not to eat.”

“Ah, right. I’ve heard there are ladies who don’t eat sweets as well.”

My friends and I used to eat heartily, but there are also ladies on diets. It’s not uncommon for them to only have a single bite and then just drink tea.

When it comes down to it, I can just have that first bite fed to me.

“Starting today, I will bring food to your mouth. Please grasp this concept as quickly as possible.”

“. . . . . .Yes.”

Being taken care of by someone dressed as a cute girl had a certain sense of taboo that I shouldn’t get used to.

By the way, Chris was very Spartan.
