Awakening to find Seo Ji-an with a bewildered expression, I averted my gaze and changed the topic.

“How’s your younger sister?”

“. . . She’s much better than before. She regained consciousness yesterday.”

“That’s good news.”

In a way, all this suffering was for Seo Ji-ha, so it would be disappointing if the results were poor.

Seo Ji-an hurriedly got out of bed to stop me as I tried to get up, feeling a bit sore.

“Rest a bit longer. I’ll call someone to check on your condition.”

Seo Ji-an’s ears were slightly red as she left the room.

Seo Ji-an briefly reviewed the hectic events of the past few days after entrusting Han Kang-yoon to the doctor she had hired.

「. . . . . . .」

Honestly, though, there was no need to review it. After all, if it weren’t for Han Kang-yoon, she wouldn’t be standing here right now.

“Sister?”

Seo Ji-an hurriedly regained her senses at her younger sister Seo Ji-ha’s question, staring at her intently, and gently stroked her sister’s head.

“Are you uncomfortable?”

“. . . I’m perfectly fine now, so don’t worry. You’ve already suffered so much because of me, so take care of your health.”

Looking at her worried sister, Seo Ji-an felt like this was all a dream, not reality.

The very scene she had only ever imagined in her head.

Now, it was unfolding before her eyes, crystal clear.

And it was all thanks to Han Kang-yoon.

“Any physical changes?”

“Everything is within acceptable limits. You can say she’s in excellent condition. It’s amazing. Her condition improved so much in just one day. . . . . . .”

Seo Ji-an could only be amazed, just like the doctor in charge had said.

Thinking about it, Han Kang-yoon had been like this from the beginning. Although he had apparently been a student at the academy before, he suddenly started to change as if he had fallen from the sky.

「. . . 𝙄 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮.」

However, that no longer mattered.

Han Kang-yoon had given Seo Ji-an everything she had ever wanted. So now, it was her turn to return the favor.

“I’ll come back later.”

After talking to her sister, Seo Ji-an headed back to the hospital room with a simple drink in hand.

Han Kang-yoon was still out getting a checkup and hadn’t returned yet, leaving only Yoo Ah-in in the room, her body wrapped in bandages.

“How are you feeling?”

“I’ll recover in time. It’s nothing serious.”

“Let me know if anything’s wrong.”

After exchanging a few polite words, Seo Ji-an cautiously opened her mouth, recalling their previous conversation.

“What were you talking about earlier?”

“It was nothing important. Are you concerned?”

“. . . It’s not like that.”

Yoo Ah-in stared intently at Seo Ji-an and quietly spoke.

“Regardless of the circumstances, Han Kang-yoon is undoubtedly a remarkable talent.”

“Of course.”

“When he graduates from the academy, I’m sure many influential people will try to recruit him.”

Yoo Ah-in briefly assessed Seo Ji-an’s expression before continuing.

“I wasn’t able to contribute much to this fight.”

“. . . That’s not true.”

“Honestly, at this point, I’m not at a stage where I can get stronger through training or effort.”

“. . . . . . .”

“I’m sure you’ll need his help more than mine in the future.”

Yoo Ah-in’s judgment was not wrong. In fact, Seo Ji-an’s thoughts were not much different.

Yoo Ah-in playfully spoke to Seo Ji-an, who was lost in thought.

“So, wouldn’t it be better to secure him before you regret it?”

“. . . That’s none of your business.”

Seo Ji-an already owed Han Kang-yoon so much.

Because of that, she had absolutely no intention of profiting from Han Kang-yoon or making any kind of deal.

To be exact, she couldn’t look at him that way anymore.

「. . . . . . .」

For Seo Ji-an, it was a completely new type of relationship.

Trying to suppress the emotional turmoil caused by this unknown relationship, Seo Ji-an could only fiddle with the drink in her hand.

After regaining consciousness, I underwent a thorough examination by the medical staff and was finally released from the hospital room after a day of rest.

“Hey, Oppa, are you leaving now?”

“I have to.”

A girl in a patient’s gown approached me with a regretful expression. It was Seo Ji-an’s younger sister, Seo Ji-ha.

I had already confirmed her condition through her emotions, so there shouldn’t be any problems for a while.

“. . . I think it would be better if you rested a bit longer.”

“Sorry, I have somewhere I need to go. My physical condition is fine.”

Things were somehow resolved on this side, but now I was worried about Yoo Ha-on and her group.

If I remember correctly, it was around the time that the Sori-soe began its activities in earnest.

“. . . I won’t stop you. If you need anything, contact me. I’ll help you with anything.”

Seo Ji-an had been constantly thanking me ever since the battle with Hektel.

In a way, it seemed like she couldn’t control her feelings of indebtedness from this incident.

“. . . Thanks again.”

If she had previously been seen as a mere collaborator, now it felt like our relationship had become a bit closer.

I would need her help in the future, so it was a stroke of luck in the end.

I bid farewell to Seo Ji-an and left the facility, heading towards my next destination.

Now, it was time to get back on track with the main story, preparing for the inevitable final confrontation.
