“Special training?”
“Yeah.”
As I sat on a bench in the academy’s promenade, chatting with Han Seo-ah, the familiar keyword reminded me of an incident from the original work.
「𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧-𝙪𝙥 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 2 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮.」
Invited by Baek Eun-seo, a member of the Three Great Houses, Yoo Ha-on and her party leave the academy during the vacation period for training.
As a supporting character in the original work, Han Seo-ah, who was close to Yoo Ha-on, was also invited there.
“That’s good.”
Han Seo-ah seemed to have been feeling complicated lately, probably due to the Yeongwol Island incident. It was hard to say that she was responsible for the incident, but it was not completely unrelated either.
Perhaps she was still struggling to shake off her guilt and sense of indebtedness.
Originally, Han Seo-ah shouldn’t have been in such distress, so I was also feeling uneasy.
「𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩, 𝙄 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧.」
After the interview with the dean, she seemed to have shaken off her worries to some extent, but it wouldn’t be bad to have a change of pace through training.
Han Seo-ah asked me shyly as I expressed my positive intention.
“. . .Will Oppa come too? Ha-on said it’s okay.”
“Me?”
With those words, I began to organize my thoughts in my mind.
「𝙔𝙤𝙤 𝙃𝙖-𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨.」
The yokai Sori-soe, whose inherent power is not that great, but is evaluated as B+ grade considering its special ability.
Towards the end of their training, Yoo Ha-on and her party will help the exorcists who have been dispatched and face Sori-soe, who has completely dominated a village.
However, that was not something that would happen right away. Rather, since training had to come first, there was plenty of time.
That’s why I gave her an ambiguous answer.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to join right away, even if I go.”
“Really?”
She didn’t show it, but Han Seo-ah’s expression showed quite a bit of disappointment.
“But I’ll go to see it if I have time.”
“Oh, okay. I got it.”
Even though she must have been curious about a lot of things, Han Seo-ah didn’t ask anything during that time.
Perhaps she was being considerate in her own way, or perhaps she thought she shouldn’t ask about those things.
While exchanging small talk with Han Seo-ah, I read the information of the trait that I had already checked several times.
「𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.」
Ring.
【Han Seo-ah】
▶Level 31
▶Ability Scores
【Stamina: A+】
【Spiritual power : B-】
【Spellcraft: B】
【Mental Strength: B+】
▶Trait(5/10)
【Companion(S)】
【Long-term Chronic(S)】
【Accelerated Growth(B)】
【Brawl(B-)】
【Composure(C+)】
「. . .𝘼𝙣 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜.」
Originally, Han Seo-ah’s unidentified trait, Companion, is a trait that she gains after becoming involved with Yoo Ha-on after the Yeongwol Island incident progresses to a certain point in the story.
Its effect was simple and clear.
Ring.
【Companion(S)】
▶The subject and the target have a complementary relationship. The degree of this relationship changes depending on the distance between them.
━Linked target: Han Kang-yoon
「𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝙃𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙨. . . . . . . . .」
It was not the original protagonist, Yoo Ha-on, but me.
I was surprised, but to be honest, I didn’t feel bad.
The subject of the trait gains a magical link with Han Seo-ah, and they stimulate and influence each other.
For example, if one side grows rapidly, the other side is also affected, or when they fight together, they receive a bonus to their lacking ability scores.
「𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨.」
The important point of the Companion trait was that its effects were manifested only through positive aspects. A cheat-like trait that brings only returns without any particular risks. It definitely deserves the S rank.
「𝙊𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙤-𝙖𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩.」
Han Seo-ah possesses another S-rank trait, 「𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜-𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘」.
「𝘼𝙣 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙙𝙙𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙨.」
In other words, Han Seo-ah can grow faster than others in terms of numerical level. In fact, in the original work, it was Han Seo-ah who first reached level 50, which is called the standard for the strong.
「𝙊𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨.」
In short, the current Han Seo-ah was nothing less than a walking growth accelerator and buff totem for me.
「𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙔𝙤𝙤 𝙃𝙖-𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝. . . . . .」
Things have been going strangely wrong from the start.
But there’s nothing I can do. Adapting and responding to change is what I have to do right now.
“. . .Then, I’ll see you later.”
“Yeah.”
Once again, I gathered my thoughts and left the place with Han Seo-ah’s farewell.
