Choosing the Baby’s Father From the Following – Chapter 3

Chapter 3

“Uh, well…….”

I tried to muddle through, but Phoebe’s eyes widened.

“Oh my gosh! You just admitted it, didn’t you? You always said no, that there was only friendship between you two!”

Oh, right?

Was him building an extension to my room also friendship?

‘𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘙𝘺𝘶-𝘫𝘪, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢, 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥.’

Only then did I wave my hand and say,

“Don’t talk nonsense and get out, Phoebe.”

After Phoebe giggled and left, I looked down at the box and took a deep breath.

The box was a dazzling gold, the ribbon tied around it extremely luxurious, and overall very expensive and large.

‘𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦?’

Carefully, I untied the ribbon and opened the lid.

Inside the box, brilliant velvet was laid out, and it was filled with trivial accessories and snacks.

‘……𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵?’

But soon, the thought became meaningless when I spotted a very suspicious glass ball.

‘𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.’

That’s right. This is a magical world.

I didn’t want to recklessly touch the suspicious sphere, so I searched every nook and cranny of the box, but apart from the sphere, there seemed to be nothing important.

“Ha…….”

Sighing, I looked into the sphere.

The sphere was white, then purple, then orange or light green.

‘𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦.’

And I was the one who devised it.

As I carefully took out the glass ball, the light exploded and clung to the wall.

Soon, a large face appeared on the wall.

‘𝘚𝘰…… 𝘚𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦…….’

Winter-like white skin, dazzling hair ornaments like an illusion, silver eyebrows as if snow had piled up softly, eyes bluer than the sea, light-colored lips…….

“Hoo…….”

I forgot to even breathe at the sight of Callisteon’s face, which I was seeing for the first time, and then I slowly exhaled as I remembered that this body was pregnant.

‘𝘚𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺, 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺.’

A smile appeared on the lips of Callisteon reflected on the wall.

“Have you fallen for me again after all this time? You should have come to see me sooner.”

His low voice was quiet, but it had the power to captivate people.

“Se, Senior…….”

It was my first time talking to such a handsome man, so I was buffering.

‘𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳.’

Callisteon frowned.

“Senior? Lou, are you mad at me?”

It seemed that the title wasn’t ‘Senior’ after all.

He clearly said ‘as your senior’ several times in the letter.

“It’s not like that, Cal.”

As I corrected myself, recalling the signature he added, this time it seemed right.

Callisteon finally relaxed his expression and said,

“I’ve decided to attend the victory banquet next week. I’ll tell His Majesty properly then.”

“W, What do you mean?”

I asked blankly, and Callisteon’s brow, which had barely relaxed, furrowed again.

Still, he was so handsome that I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

“Are you messing with me right now?”

No, and why was he talking like that if he wasn’t my senior?

Before I could ask anything, Callisteon declared,

“I can’t wait any longer. I’m going to propose to you that day.”

After a moment of silence, I reflexively shouted,

“……No!”

Callisteon sighed.

“Yes.”

W, what’s with that decisiveness?

‘𝘐’𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵.’

I slept with another man, too!

“N, No…….”

He sighed again, watching me babble.

“Your biological father, His Majesty, Her Majesty the Empress, the other princesses……, I’m tired of those stories. And I don’t want to hear about any more petty kingdom princes or crazy wizards.”

Right, you mean Ernst and Ren?

‘𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘰?’

Then I have to meet them too……!

“Not only that…….”

Just then, a clear knock came from somewhere, and an unfamiliar knight in full dress appeared behind Callisteon.

“Your Excellency, I apologize for interrupting your personal time, but I have something urgent to report…….”

Callisteon casually raised a hand towards the knight and looked back to the front.

“Lou.”

“……Yes?”

As I reluctantly replied, he smirked.

“Let’s meet and talk. You just stay as you are.”

Once again, a bright light enveloped the wall, and his face slowly disappeared.

The light of the glass ball was completely extinguished, and no matter how much I touched it, there was no more reaction.

‘𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦-𝘶𝘴𝘦…….’

My next thought was ‘It must have been very expensive,’ but what did it matter since I didn’t buy it?

The man who had just left was the master of Babenberg, where money supposedly grew out of the ground.

‘𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺.’

That’s why, when Lurick ignored all the agreements with the Grand Duchy and swallowed up Babenberg, the imperial officials were secretly pleased.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘢𝘯.’

I pulled out the mountain of letters from the drawer and began to look through them, picking out only the ones from Callisteon.

While I had been agonizing over ‘who the father of the child was’ until now, it was time to find out what kind of man Callisteon was.

‘𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦……. 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘚𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦?’

So, maybe he wasn’t usually violent.

𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘻𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘳, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥?

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘴𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.

𝘈𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘴…

……Well, he doesn’t seem particularly violent.

T, Then, since he’s a Grand Duke, maybe he’s not too authoritarian.

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘺’𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦.

𝘐 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘨𝘦𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩.

𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘦, 𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯.

He’s willing to learn……. so he doesn’t seem authoritarian.

And to think that he’s trying to figure out how to play with children…….

‘𝘐𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘥?’

I shook my head at the thought.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.’

But it might be a little difficult for a woman from South Korea to stay sane while thinking about such a handsome man…….

‘𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘺, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?’

Of course, that’s assuming he acknowledges the child as his own…… Surely I, the imperial princess, would be!

‘𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘯’𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘶𝘬𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩…….’

Thinking like that put my mind at ease.

‘𝘜𝘨𝘩.’

But the morning sickness was relentless.

As it happened, I found this in one of his letters.

𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘥?

𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰.

𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘢𝘭?

𝘈𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳, 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘥𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴.

𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘹, 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦.

There he goes again with the ‘senior’ thing.

‘𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘩𝘦’𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘪𝘹 𝘥𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰?’

I anxiously fiddled with the extinguished glass ball, but the light did not return.

🔹🔹🔹

“Blegh.”

The next day, I ended up throwing up all the breakfast I had secretly eaten in the bathroom, careful not to let Phoebe see.

My face in the mirror was so pale that anyone could tell I was sick.

‘𝘈𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘺.’

I tried to bite my lips red, but I almost bit my tongue in surprise.

‘𝘞𝘰𝘸, 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭.’

The pale pink-haired princess with rose-red lips was so seriously beautiful that it wouldn’t be strange if she woke up from a dream at any moment.

That’s how unreal it felt.

Of course, I’ve thought this every time I went to bed for the past few days, but here I remain.

‘𝘐𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯… 𝘐 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦.’

However, there seemed to be no way for me to contact Callisteon first, and the day Lurick was to arrive was just around the corner.

‘𝘐𝘵’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘰𝘴 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.’

I wondered who could help me.

Of course, the first person who came to mind was the female protagonist, Helena.

‘𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴.’

But Helena was probably still working as a maid in the monastery, unaware of her powers.

If Lurick was going to go berserk just like in the novel I wrote, it wouldn’t do any good to ruin the original development where he is redeemed.

‘𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦.’

Then, there’s Ren……

‘𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘳𝘥, 𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳.’

The magic tower was set far away, at the foot of some mountain.

I don’t remember because it’s information I hardly mentioned.

‘𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵…’

I started going through Ren’s letters to find out the exact location of the magic tower, and soon discovered something strange.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵.’

Unlike Cal’s letters, which only came from the academy dormitory or Babenberg, Ren’s letters came from everywhere.

He sent them from the magic tower on the edge of the empire, from the Kingdom of Flavi, and sometimes even from downtown in the Imperial City.

‘𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺…’

I found the address by rummaging through the star-studded map Ren had sent me, and realized that it was quite close to the Imperial Palace.

‘𝘐𝘧 𝘙𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘓𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴.’

Even if he couldn’t cure my morning sickness, he could at least make my face look healthier.

‘𝘙𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘦…… 𝘏𝘦’𝘴 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵.’

So I wrote a letter to the unfamiliar address in the Imperial City.

𝘙𝘦𝘯, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘬.

Of course, I never dreamed that the effect of that letter would be so immediate.
