Choosing the Baby’s Father From the Following – Chapter 12.1

Chapter 12

The next morning, I woke to the bustling sounds of the maids and an unknown, fragrant scent.

As I slowly opened my eyes, an unexpected sight unfolded before me.

‘𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴? 𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨?’

My mind was already in a daze from the magical happenings, and now my entire room was filled with colorful flower baskets.

“Phoebe……?”

As I called out in a daze, Phoebe came running.

“Your Highness! You took a nap yesterday, and you’re still sleeping late?”

I was a little uneasy because she had previously suspected me of being pregnant, but Phoebe just asked cheerfully.

“By the way, Your Highness, is it your…… you know, special day from today?”

“What, what are you talking about?”

When I asked back in bewilderment, Phoebe stepped aside and gestured toward the large and small flower baskets.

“His Grace, Grand Duke Callisteon sent them. There were so many that we couldn’t fit them all in the room, so the hallway is full of them too. The young maids are thrilled, as if they were their gifts.”

I remembered the Grand Duke’s expression when I told him I was pregnant.

‘𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺.’

I blushed and tried to avert my gaze from the flowers, but it was impossible to avoid them as they filled the entire room.

Phoebe teased me excitedly.

“Oh my, Your Highness. Are you shy about receiving flowers?”

In the end, I finished getting ready while sitting in the middle of the room, which had turned into a flower garden.

Phoebe then brought a large golden box.

“Would you like to open it before breakfast?”

“Ah, yes.”

I replied with a forced smile.

‘𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘴…’

After Phoebe left the room, I first took two spoonfuls of Ren’s morning sickness medicine.

Then, when I opened the gift box, I found various snacks like before, along with a small, shining ball.

I carefully took it out, and the ball rolled around on my palm.

—Thump! Thump!

Then, it bounced a few times on the floor and stuck to the wall near the window.

As I watched in amazement, the small ball crawled up the wall, drawing an arched door.

‘𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯…?’

It’s a novel I wrote, but why are there so many spells I don’t know about?

As the trail of the magic sphere turned into a shining door and stood tall, another magic occurred.

—Click.

As the door drawn with light opened, a sudden gust of winter wind blew.

And someone popped out.

‘𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴, 𝘪𝘤𝘺 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴……’

Over his broad shoulders, tall enough to barely fit through the door, billowed a snow-white fur cape.

Every time the man took a step, the sound of a long sword brushing against his thigh could be heard.

‘𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧…’

He didn’t even smile when our eyes met.

He was exactly as I remembered the Grand Duke of the North to be.

“……Cal.”

Having had two video calls, I was able to call his name quite naturally.

Callisteon walked slowly and knelt on one knee in front of me.

As if possessed, I placed my hand on his outstretched hand, and soon his cool lips touched the back of my hand.

“Lou.”

The next moment, instead of getting up, he pulled me into his arms.

The wind-scented cheek of the man touched my pounding chest.

“It was the longest fortnight of my life.”

Callisteon whispered in agony.

So, it seemed that only a fortnight had passed since Louise returned from the academy.

He rubbed his cheek against mine and muttered like a complaint.

“I don’t ever want to hear about you from that crazy wizard again.”

Oh, crazy……

‘𝘚𝘰, 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥?’
