Choosing the Baby’s Father From the Following – Chapter 11.1

Chapter 11

“Caesarea?”

Caesarea Monastery is the place where Lurick was imprisoned and is famous. The place is headed by Didio, the most famous monk in the empire.

‘𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘋𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮. 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰, 𝘣𝘶𝘵……’

Lurick frowned again and replied,

“Why do you want to go there? Is there a wish you want to ask from the great monk?”

Of course, I have many wishes.

But that’s not the point.

“I do have a wish… but……”

I gently prolonged my words and added coyly.

“I want to see the famous Caesarea Falls. And most of all, I want to see the blue camellia flowers that only bloom there.”

At the mention of ‘𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴’, Lurick’s expression darkened.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴.’

In the novel, Helena melted Lurick’s thorny heart by bringing him those flowers.

“I know Caesarea Monastery is far. But if brother permits, I can get Ren’s help with the travel.”

At the name of the Mage Tower Master, Lurick’s eyebrows twitched.

He might not like Ren, but it was obvious that the capable Mage Tower Master will be helpful on this journey.

As Lurick seemed to be swayed, I quickly added,

“Of course, Ren is His Majesty’s man, but wouldn’t His Majesty be pleased if it’s for a pilgrimage?”

The Emperor, while heavily employing wizards in secret, was a hypocrite who tried to appear as a devout Emperor in front of the people.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘓𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥.’

Lurick reluctantly replied,

“I’ll ask His Majesty.”

Relieved inwardly, I planned the next step.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘓𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥.’

Of course, the Emperor didn’t anticipate Lurick going rampage, but after the incident he realized it was because of the magic sword.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘓𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥.’

I glanced at the magic sword hanging from Lurick’s waist and thought,

‘𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬’𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯?’

As I was making such plans, Lurick suddenly said,

“You’ve really grown up, Lou.”

All of a sudden, why……?

As I looked up in wonder, he shook his head slightly.

“……When I received your letter a while ago, I was so surprised.”

Letter?

As I perked up my ears at the incomprehensible words, he sighed.

“It was full of requests you don’t usually make, so I thought something had happened to you. I was so worried that I ended the war as soon as I could……”

Oh my gosh.

‘𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳.’

But there were hardly any letters from Lurick among the letters in the drawer, and I have no idea about the letter that Louise had sent.

‘𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵, 𝘴𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?’

I barely managed to come up with an excuse.

“I, Is that so? Oh, maybe I wrote whatever came to mind on a day when I drank too much wine and missed brother.”

Then, I added cautiously,

“I’m sorry if I burdened you while you were on the battlefield.”

“Tsk.”

Lurick clicked his tongue, but his expression seemed to lighten.

“You blush easily, so it’s better not to drink too much.”

Yes, yes.

I won’t be drinking for a while anyway.

‘𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐’𝘮 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦.’

🔹🔹🔹

After the walk, I was finally alone.

Exhausted, I sent even Phoebe away and lay down, lost in thought.

‘𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦.’

Of course, it wasn’t just one or two strange things, but the relationship between the three potential baby’s fathers and Louise was particularly odd.

If a woman was being pursued by three men and hadn’t clearly rejected any of them……

‘𝘐𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳?’

Of course, the three weren’t exactly on the same side.

It’s obvious that the three are jealous of each other, and they do interfere to some extent.

‘𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴……’

The three are friends.

Even Ren, after all that fuss, eventually returned to Babenberg.

“I need to tell that idiot Cal about the current situation. If it’s Lou’s wish that he doesn’t propose, he might listen.”

And what did Ernst say to the back of the man who was creating black flames?

“While you’re at it, help him put out the fire. You know Cal, he’ll repay you tenfold, twentyfold.”

That was definitely a comment to assist Cal while pretending to be on Ren’s side.

‘𝘐𝘯 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴, 𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳.’

And that wasn’t all.

Ernst also said this:

“It doesn’t matter if it’s not mine. I can raise it as my own.”

What the heck?

What kind of heart could say such a thing?

‘𝘏𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮……’

I jumped out of bed.

With renewed determination, I glared at every corner of the room and began to search again.

‘𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺?’
