An Unconscious Genius Magic Tool Maker Wants to Live a Leisurely Life – Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Magic tools are so convenient, aren’t they?

We arrived at the entrance of the dungeon.

In the center of a long and narrow building, there is a hole just big enough for one person to fit through.

There is no door and it’s not locked.

Anyone can easily enter inside.

However, we are currently at sea.

Normally, no one comes near and it cannot be found.

According to what His Highness said, it was discovered by chance when fishermen who were working nearby reported the existence of a strange building.

“Let’s go. You guys.”

“Yes.”

“Roger!”

“Okay.”

The royal guards enter first.

His Highness and I follow behind.

As soon as we entered, there was a staircase.

It was spiral-shaped and continued all the way down.

The sunlight pouring in from the entrance no longer reached us, and it quickly became pitch black.

Dan-san, who was leading the way, turned on a magic tool for light.

The magic tool is in the shape of a lantern and can continue to illuminate for two days if it is fully charged with magic power.

One large-sized and several small-sized magic tools that can be equipped on the waist are prepared for each person.

“Dan, can you see the back of it?”

“Not yet. It’s pretty deep.”

“If we hit the bottom, we’ll just be in the water… I don’t think so.”

“So far, there’s no sound of water. We can only hope it stays that way.”

We descended the stairs cautiously.

After walking for about five minutes, we finally saw the bottom.

Relieved that we weren’t in the water, we took a deep breath as we saw a long hallway that seemed to stretch on forever.

“You can still turn back now, you know?” His Highness asked me.

I shook my head vigorously.

“I’m okay.”

I was nervous, but not afraid.

We continued down the hallway.

We walked straight for what seemed like forever, until suddenly they came to a crossroads.

“Dan.”

“Got it. Everyone, cover your ears!”

As instructed, everyone covered their ears with their hands, including me, although I wasn’t sure why.

Dan took a deep breath.

“Aaaa!”

He suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs.

Can humans really make that much noise?

His voice echoed loudly, threatening to burst their eardrums.

“What, what was that just now?”

“You’ll know it when you see it.”

Dan-san listened quietly, trying to hear.

Then he pointed to the right path.

“This is the correct way.”

“Eh, how do you know?”

“By the sound. He has better hearing than most people, you know? He can even distinguish very small sounds.”

“If you listen to the echoing sound, you can understand the overall structure!”

Did he check the path leading to the back by the sound bounce?

Can humans really do something like that?

I was so surprised that I couldn’t say anything.

Everyone followed the directions he showed without questioning and continued on smoothly without encountering any dead ends.

But this is a dungeon.

It’s a place where great ancestors stored their legacy.

Something is bound to happen.

“Oh, something moved. Be alert, they’re coming.”

Dan-san, who was leading the way, stepped back, and Gardo-san stepped forward in his place.

He had already unsheathed his large sword from his back.

Lest-san held his spear, while Iris-san readied her staff.

“Golem, perhaps. It’s an enemy that you’d expect in a dungeon.”

“Don’t just stand there impressed, let’s go.”

“We’re being attacked! Iris, prepare your magic.”

“Okay.”

Three giant golems appeared.

Their massive bodies blocked the hallway up to the top.

Gardo-san quickly stepped forward.

Swinging his greatsword, he clashed with the golem’s fist.

“Hah! That was a light punch!”

Taking advantage of the opening, Lest-san severed the joint with his spear.

“Joints are fragile, but the golem won’t stop as long as its core isn’t destroyed.”

“Iris!”

“Get out of the way, both of you.”

Iris-san had already finished chanting her spell.

A lightning bolt that could shatter rocks was released from the magic circle deployed in front of her.

“Vortex.”

The lightning precisely pierced and destroyed the golem’s heart, its core.

With its core destroyed, the golem ceased to function.

The motionless giant body was now just a pile of rocks.

Two more golems remained.

“That’s amazing…”

“I told you, they’re the elite. We can leave it to them.”

This is reassuring to watch.

The remaining two golems were also taken care of without a problem.

“Something’s coming from behind!”

“What?”

We turn around.

In the darkness, two, then four red eyes appeared and multiplied.

The figure that appeared was a half-fish monster.

“Sahagins, isn’t it? Looks like they followed us from another route.”

“Or the demons inhabit this place?”

“Seems like it. I’ll hold it back.”

Dan-san held a knife in his right hand and several thin iron needles in his left.

“I’m not very good at fighting, though!”

Nevertheless, he bravely charged forward.

He swiftly shook the Sahagin left and right, threw needles to blind their eyes, and stabbed it with a knife.

However, there were too many of them, and several approached them.

The three were still fighting the golems.

I’ll try to do something——

“Stay back.”

“Your Highness?”

His Highness drew his sword from his waist.

Then he swiftly cut down a Sahagin and sheathed his sword in an instant.

“What… Huh?”

“Indeed, as expected of you.”

“Gardo-san!”

He was suddenly behind him.

It seems they had defeated all three golems.

“The prince is strong. His swordsmanship is among the best in the kingdom.”

“Really…”

“I’ve always liked moving my body since I was young. That’s why I ended up training with the sword. What do you think? I’ve become quite decent, haven’t I?”

“Yes! You were very cool.”

Those were words of admiration that came from the bottom of my heart.

The prince smiled happily.

That smile erased my anxiety.
