Dark Fantasy: Magical Eye Knight – Chapter 205

Chapter 205: Dragon and Giant

The castle collapsed. It was difficult to believe simply by hearing it. Large constructions were commonly associated with city walls and castles In this age.

Most castles, like city walls, appeared to be as substantial and sturdy as they were. Nobody would have predicted that they would collapse. It was as ludicrous as a cat meowing like a duck or a fish flying into the sky.

However, the collapse of Brasilt Castle left the city’s residents with an inexplicable sense of loss.

The huge hand that had broken through the castle’s outer wall, and the arm that followed it, were unbelievable. The stones and debris of the outside wall, which had cracked and floated into the air, appeared to move very slowly.

The loudness and magical energy emanating from Brasilt Castle since lunchtime had made the inner city and surrounding areas nervous. And the horrified expressions of the servants, soldiers, and servants hurrying out of the castle were enough to pique the crowd’s interest.

Few people had a full understanding of the situation. When they saw hundreds of individuals running out of Brasilt Castle and discovered that they were either wearing armor or missing a limb, the majority of them turned around and fled.

And now, with the greatest roar ever heard, a transparent wave pierced into the inner city, passing through the people sprinting ahead. The tremendous shock caused people’s ears to ring.

A massive cloud of dust engulfed everything. The dust, stones, and dirt that had been caught in the rafters for a long time tumbled down, rumbling between them.

People looked back.

They could see the giant’s arm protruding out of the castle’s damaged outer wall. The giant with gray skin like an upturned ash heap swung his arm while opening his eyes simultaneously. The eyes were on his arm rather than his face.

The firmly closed eyelids fluttered open, displaying a human-sized pupil. It was a pupil with a purple hue to its black.

The pupils rolled around without concentrating on anything in particular. It appeared to want to look at everything in the world, or maybe it was simply nuts.

People who established even a brief eye contact with those eyes began to exhibit unusual symptoms, such as eye hemorrhage or vomiting.

“Ugh, cough!”

“Aaaaaah!”

People who made eye contact with the gigantic went insane, scratching their faces as if they intended to rip out their own eyes or slamming their heads against any wall or structure.

“Phil! Phil, why are you doing that? Pull yourself together!”

“Mommaaaa!”

“Hwaaaak!”

Those who attempted to stop their neighbors and family members from self-harming without understanding what was going on were pushed away or sometimes attacked. Chaos was born in this way.

Kwadeudeudeudeuk!

The giant’s second arm, which had been extended, swung horizontally. For whatever reason, the arm was positioned low, blowing the inner city wall outward.

The remains of the wall began to strike the city. The height, which had increased as much as the time it had been suspended in the air, was narrowed by the force of gravity.

Thud! Thud! Kwadeudeudeuk!

The ground groaned and spewed out thick dirt and rocks. There were little to no yells or groans. They perished without having the opportunity to do so.

Among them, a particularly massive section of the city wall fell from the sky. The stone had an indefinable polygonal shape, as is typical of fractured stones, but it was about more than 5 meters long and 20 cm thick.

The debris was about to crush the people who were fleeing. Something black kicked the earth before flying toward the massive rock.

Thwack!

Two curving swords danced in the air, accompanied by a piercing cry. As hundreds of threads were dragged through the air, the solid rock cracked into pebbles that fell to the ground.

Lexi, the dark elf who had split the rock, wiped the blood from her eyes and ears before shouting at the humans.

“Run away!”

The inhabitants could not think of any reason to oppose the order. Lexi glanced ahead as the humans fled, shouting.

After temporarily fainting during the combat in the hall, she swiftly recovered consciousness. And she quickly understood the problem.

After fleeing the crumbling hall, she and her allies, leaving Russell with Jayvir, used magic to set off the alarm.

Even without it, the servants ran out of the lord’s palace, which shook as if carried by a dragon. Lexi regained her senses after being shocked as a roar and a magical wave erupted from the castle, leaving no humans inside.

And she stood here, taking command of a certain spot, looking at Calia’s remarks with a grim gaze.

“……was that it?”

Lexi recalled what Calia had said before leaving. Beings who sought human blood and flesh would slither out.

The dazzling sun vanished without a trace. The sky was overcast with white clouds. The light beamed on the ground from behind the clouds, casting white pupils.

Lexi grasped her two curved blades in the soft light that was neither dark nor brilliant.

Something moved swiftly in front of her. It was unmistakably a monster.

The monster, which looked to have emerged from the building’s shadows, appeared silently, showing both its bare skin and blue nerve bundles.

Standing on two legs, it appeared to be around one meter and eighty centimeters tall. Its head was like a cross between a lizard and a wolf, with a long snout and sharp teeth protruding from it.

Kyaaaaaaa-!

The monster beneath the sun blew out its powerful bulk and roared. The roar violently pushed the dirt and dust, resulting in a gust of wind.

“It’s so ugly, really.”

Twang!

Lexi, who had hit her two curved swords together once, immediately tensed her legs as if she were about to flee. As if anticipating her attack, the creature in front of her braced its front legs on the ground and breathed loudly, much like a bull in a bullring.

Thud!

Lexi vanished as the ground gave way. However, her objective was not directly in front of her. It was the air.

Another monster with strong claws and arms appeared where Lexi had just stood.

Kwaaaaaaa-!

The creature let out a lengthy howl, as if it were disappointed or outraged that it had failed to grab Lexi in that moment.

Lexi, who was high in the air, saw countless shadows emerge from the inner city with the monster that had appeared. There were sounds of something breaking and shattering, as well as something big thumping the ground everywhere.

Monsters with different appearances but identical auras and sizes were constantly rising from the debris of the fallen inner city and marching toward it.

“Damn it, really.”

Lexi mumbled as she fell from her flight. The first to appear and the one who had risen from the ground opened their mouths wide and dashed toward her.

Lexi displayed her curved swords to the creatures who made bizarre sounds like laughter, such as chachacha, tu tu tu, and kekkekkek.

Squeak!

The curved blade cut easily through half of the monster’s skull. The creature shrieked as its entire body, from the crown of its head to its right eye, was blown apart. However, because its vocal chords had been sliced crosswise, only the sound of wind could be heard.

However, the monster swung its two arms inward while its heart continued to beat. And it attempted to swallow Lexi whole, stretching its jaw wide enough to reach its chest.

She saw crimson blood and pus gushing from its blood-red fangs and gums. The curving blade swung once more before the jaw could crush Lexi.

The curved sword in her right hand sliced through the monster’s nose, while the curved blade in her left hand entered the monster’s heart and emerged.

As the monster’s heart was destroyed, the wolf-lizard-headed monster on her right side jumped in. A big, clenched hand flew at her with great force.

Lexi’s left curved blade intercepted the punch as it swung in a circle. As the sword slid over the wolf-lizard-headed monster’s arm, the muscles peeled off, as if torn. Lexi lacked the necessary strength.

When the monster, having torn off its own arm with its own strength, opened its lips wide to let out a howl of rage and pain, the superior curved sword went through the roof of its mouth and shattered its brain.

The wolf-lizard monster slumped, oozing blood, and Lexi flicked her curved sword. But she immediately regretted her actions.

Her sharp ears could already detect nCounty ten monsters approaching her, her hearts racing.

At that point, another sound was added.

Kwaang!

An entire wall in a vacant house fell, and a monster and a person emerged together. The human with bloodstains on his thighs was Scilio. Another male human jumped out of the collapsing wall and stabbed the monster that was rolling around with a sword.

It was Scilio and Weizen.

“Ugh, ugh, what the hell is this monster? Where did it come from?”

“Calia said, didn’t you hear? Phew, she said there’s a hole in something.”

“I only heard something about interdimensional something or other.”

“That’s what she said, idiot.”

The siblings, who had been insulting one another, turned their heads to see Lexi standing over the bodies of two monsters.

“Oh, isn’t that the Ms. Dark Elf? You were here?”

“I’ve already killed two.”

Lexi approached the pair.

“Didn’t you go southwest of the lord’s castle? I thought Calia sent you to stop them.”

“Oh, the miss dragonkin kicked me out because I was a hindrance. She said she would cast a large barrier around the inner city with the missy mdragon and asked me to catch any monsters trying to get past the outskirts in the meantime.”

Asharin and Aellasis are mythical dragonkin and dragons. They naturally possessed magical powers superior to those of most human wizards.

“Barrier? How?”

“I don’t know that either. After talking to Sis Calia about something, she flew straight into the sky. Aella, that little girl, followed her. I don’t know anything about magic, so what can I say?”

“For now, they say that the ones that came out through the hole pierced by the spell are easier to deal with with magic. If we do it well, we might be able to send them back to where they came from. But I think it will take some time to prepare.”

Lexi nodded. That was the best approach to reducing the amount of damage to the burning city and the number of people killed. That was also why Calia divided the group’s membership.

“What about Russell? Did you see him come out?”

“No. But I don’t think that guy will die.”

“Me neither. Ms. Dark Elf, have you ever seen that man fight? I got goosebumps on my spine.”

Weizen shook his head, convinced that Russell would never die. Scilio also shuddered.

Lexi nodded.

“He’s definitely not going to die here.”

Kwarurururung-!

Groooaaaan!

The sound of thunder and the roar of the monster blended to form a tremendous symphony. The giant’s massive bulk, which had completely penetrated the lord’s fortress, was tilting over.

The sheer magnitude of the limbs, which was easily over 15 meters, was strange in its own right. Lexi grasped the heads of Weizen and Scilio, who were reflexively looking at the huge.

“Don’t look. You’ll go crazy.”

“Oh, right. Calia warned me about that. I almost had a big problem.”

“What the hell is that? It’s the first time I’ve seen something that makes my stomach churn just by looking at it.”

“I don’t know either. But I know it’s different from the monsters in the dungeon.”

As the massive body collapsed, it entirely destroyed the region where the lord’s castle had formerly stood. The giant, constantly screaming in pain, rolled around, and the entire area was completely shattered and collapsed.

Koo-goo-goo…….

The ground shook, sending shock waves and vibrations across the street as pillars broke or roofs collapsed.

The entire city appeared to sigh and collapse backward. A purple light emerged from the middle of the ruin and swept across the giant’s body.

Kaaaaaaaaak!

Lexi, who had been staring at it absentmindedly, looked ahead with surprise. Before she knew it, monsters stood in front of them.

Their heights, sizes, and appearances varied, but they all lacked adequate skin and had exposed muscles. And their bizarre heads, which appeared to be a jumble of animal heads, their razor-sharp claws, and their explosively expanded muscles shimmered against the white sky.

Kyaaa

Keeeeeek

They charged in without hesitation, extending their claws, talons, sharp tentacles, or horns wrapped around their bodies.

The dark elf and the two humans confronted the beasts, each expending their magical energy.

🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷

Calia, who had hastily left the lord’s castle and given her instructions, boosted her magical energy in response to the odd sensation that raced down her spine.

Three monsters attacked her simultaneously. A monster with the appearance of an eagle and a barn owl combined with wings swooped down with sharp claws; a monster resembling a lion and a leopard rushed on all fours and bared its teeth; and a monster resembling a crocodile and a water buffalo stuck out its long snout.

A vicious atmosphere engulfed the three. A crimson blood blade, beginning with a red line, created a circle and dozens of straight lines.

The monsters’ movements came to a halt as the blood route remained in the air, leaving a red afterimage.

Twang!

Blood splattered.

The eagle-barn owl monster, with its ankles and wings severed, lost its balance and spun a few times in the air before falling to the ground; the lion-leopard monster’s head was split vertically; and the crocodile-water buffalo monster was pinned to the ground while having its palate and lower jaw pierced.

Calia, who had vanquished the three monsters in an instant, looked back.

“It’s going to be tough if more come out.”

Calia, realizing that the magical energy surge that exploded soon after leaving the lord’s palace had produced a spatial rift, had ordered the group to assume leadership of each location.

However, there were a lot of monsters coming out, and the group size was limited. It was difficult to suppose that the warriors and knights of Brasilt could be of any use. Ordinary human warriors would be torn apart as soon as they stepped forward. Knights would be able to hold out for a little longer, but being torn apart would remain unchanged.

A big shadow passed by Calia’s back with a bright flash.

“Huh.”

It was a dragon. Its white, elongated body appeared to be almost 30 meters long from head to tail. It was gigantic, but it did not appear dull due to the length of its elongated body, rather than simply being enormous.

The four wings on its back flew in different directions, changing the air currents and managing the wind, and the dragon’s massive body glided to the top of the lord’s castle with graceful ease.

The dragon’s mouth widened, and a dazzling blue light shone out. Calia, anticipating what was about to happen, turned her head.

━!

The city was filled with an amazing sound. Even though she had turned her head, Calia knew the dragon’s jaws had emitted light, which had plunged the lord’s palace.

A huge explosion and light burst from the lord’s palace. The city walls that had once ringed the lord’s castle fell.

A wall of flames that had broken past the city walls rose like waves, crossing the central area and heading toward the city. However, the flames appeared to have their own will and did not spread beyond a set radius, instead gathering back inward.

The flames and smoke rising into the sky formed a massive mushroom shape.
